Winter Olympics '22 - Beijing Edition

Unreal. The NHL acting the bollocks not letting their players play in this.

Unbelievable.

Eve Muirhead’s Olympics have blown up around her.

Sitting on one shot, which would have sent the game to an extra end, she went for broke with the hammer to try and win it there and then, and took out her own stone, handing one shot and the bronze medal to Japan who win 5-3.

Tremendous celebrations from Fujisawa and co., and in truth they fully deserved a medal. The rising daughters of Japanese curling have heralded a bright new dawn for the sport there.

Billy Morgan’s bronze medal in Big Air (whatever that is) is a good omen for Nemo Rangers ahead of their All-Ireland club football semi-final with Slaughtneil today.

So close to another miracle. 56 seconds away. But it wasn’t to be as Germany lost out in the most dramatic fashion, going down 4-3 in overtime to OAR after having taken the lead with three minutes left.

They’ll be dancing on the streets of OAR tonight.

Throwback to 06 :no_mouth:

You’d genuinely worry about the long term effect all this will have on this girl. She was hothoused in a brutal environment with a coach notorious for chewing young girls up and spitting them out, in a sport which is notorious for fleeting careers, in a country which is notorious for the brutal treatment of young girls in “feminine” sports, then humiliated in front of the world, now banned.
