With rent increasing is now the time to buy a 2nd property from the bank

Bórd Pleanála put a holt on that.

Dammed if they do

We have a housing crisis because career politicians and career politics doesn’t work.

But, but we have practically full employment. I saw a figure here yesterday where the average rate of pay per week was €900.48 or so. When we had too many houses we hadn’t enough jobs and so on.

Show us the country that has houses, health, jobs and education and fuck off to it if you want.

None of that negates the fact that the housing crisis is a result of a flawed political system. Much like the cost of living crisis and inflation is a result of a rotten political system…

Career politics and career politicians dont work.

You mean the housing issues being faced all over the West?

Doesn’t change what i said.

Change what? The same issue is being faced all over the West.

You think career politicians here have just been invented?

If you can’t read don’t be bothering me you think cunt.

It would be nice if you put your big boy pants on and went beyond the easy sound bites.

@Thomas_Brady thinks we should be governed by technocrat elites. Not the technocrats who dumped economies the world over including our own. But better technocrats.

That’s a misleading and false statement.

The system we live under doesn’t work. Career politicians stealing from tomorrow so they can survive today has come to the end.

There’s only so many times you can print money your way out of situations.

Did you not say just that?

There’s a child like naivety to @Thomas_Brady dreaming of a utopia you’d hate to see him lose.

I distinctly said people who have spent a lifetime in their field should be in politics over young people. A large proportion of these should be tech related given all our problems moving forward will nearly be in that field but health professionals, economists, educationalists, law officals, even athletes, can all play their role.

It’s a strange concept i know - having people who have achieved in their field over a long period make decisions in that area for the betterment of society over publicans, SU officers, teachers on a career break and young mums who run a part time dance school

That’s the US system. A cabinet of experts.

Hmmm

Experts all in the pockets of corporations?

You’re saying we should develop an entire profession of people whose job it is to be specialised in public administration? It’s an interesting concept, I wonder how we could go about it. Any ideas @artfoley?
