I was of this belief too and I was sitting directly behind the goal with an excellent view of it. In my mind’s eye, it’s the number 12 of Johnny Irishman that leaps up and catches the ball. Irishman and Whelan both wear red helmets.
After 71 minutes metaphorical steam is bellowing out the ears of people watching what is happening. Being at such a game is like a sporting equivalent of rape trauma, except it’s sort of enjoyable.

Malachy Clerkin’s Saturday front page article in the Times telling us about four Limerick people’s stories of their All-Ireland final day did not hit the spot. Surely there are some more interesting people’s stories to be told.
I feel that @Phil_Leotardo could do up a much better 350 worder.
