What? Senor Escobar is going to send a crack squadron over to take out an industrial complex in tullamore??
Don’t be silly.
no the criminal gangs here who aren’t getting money any more might though - it’s a chain. I’m sure Mr Escobar would sort out a few munitions for them though, as it would be in his best interest to do so.
Also, I’m sure Mr Escobar would be savvy enough to undercut the prices around the world so people who are living in poverty will be able to buy drugs tax free.
So now you’ve removed the barrier by removing illegality and you’ve still got a drugs problem.
Most of the violent crime is caused by addiction and robbing to get a fix. Illegal or not it will still be an addiction and people will still be poor.
Diesel washing is the only noble illegal business venture.
They did fuck all to stop the legal marijuana farms in US and Canada. There’s a Netflix doc about it I think
Drugs are only expensive as they are illegal.
Anyway it’s a moot point - whatever about marijuana and at a stretch MDMA no government is going to legalize coke or heroin.
Pals in California have also told me that since it was legalized it’s got stronger and stronger and you can buy stuff now that would knock you over for a weekend
Imagine seeing ads for crystal meth after the watershed.
It’s got stronger and stronger in Ireland too. And dearer with it by all accounts. I haven’t had a drag in decades, but look forward to becoming a casual smoker and horticulturalist upon my retirement.
Never had you pegged as a prohibitionist mate. Outdated and failed thinking.
Make crime legal… that’ll work
It’s worked hundreds of times before. It’s working for cannabis.
That’s an utterly bizarre statement.
What Portugal do seems fairly sensible to me. What you are suggesting doesn’t.
it’s a joke mate.
where is it working for cannabis?
It certainly is.
here look, if you’re going to go male menopausal on me today you can fuck right off
I’d like to see them fill the lower half of the front page of the Sunday Indo Living and Leisure supplement like the ads for Superkings and Rothmans used to. Big glossy ones. Near a picture of Terry Keane.
Well afair, legalisation of cannibis in a us state, possibly Colorado, provided over 100 million dollars of extra funding for schools in the first six months.
I don’t think that’s how it works in terms of pushing. Anyway it’s not heroin any more it’s crack. Think of all the added resources that could go into stopping them. Think of all the revenue the drugs gangs get from other drugs to enable that would be taken away.
How do people get access to the plants and fields for cannabis currently?
By the way I wouldn’t for a second suggest Ireland should do this on its own. Needs to be in lock step with the EU at minimum, preferably more. I don’t think any of this is going to happen any time soon either.
