It was a pity really. Could have reached a World Cup semi-final and Euro 2004 if Keane had decided to stay. Havenât had as capable a group since 2005.

He arrived out to a world cup and there was no training gear, footballs or water bottles and they were training in a farmers field. He called out the FAI and McCarthy and got rail roaded.
McCarthy subsequently failed to realise his opponents were down to 10 men in a knockout world cup game and the FAI have had a fantastic track record since
