I see Richard Veenstra is 66/1. That seems a very high price for a player who has reached the semi-finals in the last two years.
But it goes to show what an influx of new talent there has been since last year.

Is Nils de Ruiter still involved with the Dutch governing body, pal?
He sure is. He’s the director of the Dutch Darts Federation. What a production line he oversees. The Rinus Michels of darts.
Bull finish by Mandigers to win the decisive fifth leg of set two.
Cracking bit of banter there
Willem II
Nick 0.
The Dutchman getting stuck into the treble Twente.
I love the way in which incidents which are mundane and irritating at any other time, like a fly not going away, automatically become funny because it’s at Lakeside.
Shows what a great mood people are in at the home of darts.
Willem completes a 3-0 win. That was a very good performance and his odds will lower considerably from 80/1. Shame for Nick Kenny as he played some excellent darts himself and can count himself unlucky to be on the wrong end of a whitewash.
I had to google that.
Huge disappointment for Ireland’s Chris Gilliland as he misses 8 match darts to beat Australia’s Justin Thompson and loses 3-2.
I’m sure the chap in the 2002 Armagh jersey in the knowledgeable Lakeside audience is just as disappointed.
We have one more chance of winning a match this year when Tandragee’s Kyle McKinstry takes on Richard Veenstra on Tuesday.
Deta Hedman playing now in the first round of the ladies’ championship against Rachna David, who looks a bit like Benazir Bhutto.
Deta has taken the first two legs but she looks terribly nervous.
I hope this match doesn’t turn out to be a case of Rachnaphobia for her.
She’ll be grand. Rachna missed 9 shots at a double in a 27 dart first leg
Not to mind the bigger trebles.
Tremendous scenes at the end of tonight’s final match between Scotty Dog and Darius Labanauskas.
In a match in which both players averaged over 100 on the official, regulation trebles and doubles, Scotty took the match by going out in 12 and then 11 darts in the final two legs, before immediately sprinting off stage because he needed a shit.
Darius, who beat current pdc champion Rob Cross up a stick in the last 48 of the 2015 Winmau World Masters, is out in the first round.
My,how their paths have deviated since.
You know the game is up for lakeside when did isn’t posting 100 times a day like he used to.
The World Champion is safely through after beating his good friend Big Robbo.
Thankfully I don’t have to post here so much because you’re doing it for me, which is nice of you.
A proud moment for Turkish darts at the Lakeside as Ümit Uygunsözlü (pronounced Oy-gun-soz-loo) becomes the first ever Turk to compete in the World Darts Championship.
He’ll be hoping to hit a few Istanbullseyes.
