Would You Boo God Save The Queen At An Ireland Versus England Sporting International?

Respect it like this:

eature=related"]YouTube - English National Anthem from Hill 16[/ame]

Or boo the fook out of it like this (granted it’s from an Occupied Six match rather than England but the only GSTQ clips from recent England-Argentina soccer internationals are all from the England end and the booing’s drowned out!):

i guess i probaly would - Iraq Afghanastan & british occupied Ireland swings it for me,

also I think the best atmosphere sports wise are ones where there is a sense of intimidation & hatred from the fans - all this politeness at the rogbee games is pretty tame -

that the kind of atmposphere you want in a game

Official shoot to kill policy in the Occupied Six, British governmental collusion in the assassination of Irish civilians and other things like The Ballymurphy Massacre would probably put me in the ‘yes’ camp.

bloody sunday, the dublin monaghan bombings & collusion would put me in the yes camp

remind me again why I dont go to soccer games?

Il vote and say no more

because you like a sectarian sport & a west brit sport which is an odd odd combination

Hows rugby sectarian?

You should try going to a few under 14 games in Carlow then. Racist 14 old girls sound right up your street.

Funny as rugby is apolitical (if thats a word) its a 32 county sport, the border has never been recognised.

Unless you mean that GAA is a sectarian sport?

There is an All Ireland Rugby league where teams from northern ireland compete against teams from the republic

Against this soccer has two teams representing the island, and two competing leagues.

Which sport is doing more for a 32 county Ireland in the long run and which is reinforcing old stereotypes and ensuring there will never be a united Ireland?

If rugby makes me a west brit then Im a west brit. Come down to Tom Clifford Park or Kilballyowen park with me some weekend and wel see how you get on with that one.

yes I mean GAA is sectarian & rogbee unites the ascendancy class both north & south & they would be hooray henrys anyway- football has the setanta cup, boxing, athletics & basketball all unite

I wouldn’t boo it, not for any particular reason of respect or anything like that, just because the English boo the fuck out of every anthem as a xenephobic generalisation and I’d rather rise above them.

The gaa has the all ireland championship, rugby the all ireland league, soccer have a made up cup paid for by a tv channel

Am i the only one whose getting the irony of ncc booing the national anthem of the northern ireland soccer team and then telling us that the gaa and rugby are sectarian

bitter.

whats the ascendancy class?

booing GSTQ is a poltical statement
GGA isnt that popular among are unionist friend
The upper class twats in belfast & dublin both play rogbee

ok?

so if you make that generalisation about rugby is it ok for me to say that Soccer is played by working class vermin all over the world? Just curious?

of course it is http://www.thefreekick.com/board/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif

cool generalisations rock
all Munster fans are culchie bandwagon jumpers
All Dubs are glue sniffing knackers
All LOI fans should be neutered

I wouldn’t boo the anthem. I don’t agree with some of their appalling behaviour over the years but booing an anthem is insulting every British citizen, something I would not like to do as I know enough of them.

I would be with Rock on this one. If you listen to the words on GSTQ is about stretching the empire of her Majesty - ‘send her home victorious’ and all that and that sickens me to be honest particularly as they are still occupying part of my country.

I wouldn’t boo it as the same people that sing this song so vigorously about plundering and conquering (the citizens) adopt a similar booing technique for other country’s national anthems so I wouldn’t want to be brought down to their level.
