Always liked Kinnear. An excellent manager with Wimbledon until those bloody Norwegians turned up, kicked him out and brought in that cunt Olsen, next thing you know they are in Division 4.
Not great with Forest or Luton though. Must be past it.
Subject to final confirmation, we understand that the position of interim manager at SJP was filled on Friday when Joe Kinnear agreed to take on the role.
Thatâs right, Joe F***ng Kinnear.
The 61 year-old Dubliner managed Wimbledon between 1992 and 1999 (during which time a Mr D.Wise was one of his regular selections) and then took charge of Luton Town between 2001 and 2003.
His last managerial role came at Nottingham Forest in 2004, keeping the side in the Premier League in the 2003/04 season, but resigning that December with the club bottom of the table.
As to what heâs been doing for the last four years - not a clue.
I liked him at Wimbledon too but Christ he hasnât done anything of note in about 10 years. How he even came into the reckoning shows how desparate theyâve become.
On another note, what sort of a boardroom lickarse is Chris Hughton? Survives every managerial chop, is part of vast numbers of losing coaching teams and still finds himself in regular employment.
Wasnât this just after he was recovering from a heart attack or something? Think that was why he left Forest. Hasnt really been the same since. Iâd say heâll stick it out for a few months until they find someone better.
Wise was playing for Chelsea in 1993 I think wasnât he?
That said any club that would have Wise as a director of football is a joke anyway.[/quote]
Bang on the money.
Wise would take the job except he knows himself he canât manage. Poyet was the brains behind everything and that can be seen by the way Leeds went when Poyet left them. Wise is clueless as well as being a cunt.
NUFC deserve everything they get with that tool being involved. The only way out is for the fans to buy the club.
whatever about him being out of the game and not being a big name how are vthe newcastle fans going to react to his route 1, long ball footballâŚthe fans would rather newcastle go out and attack for 90 minutes and lose 4-3 than go out and hoof it for 90 minutes and win 1-0âŚstrange breed up thereâŚ
I donât think the reactionary dimwits who support Newcastle would necessarily improve matters. But in fairness, theyâre unlikely to do much worse than the current owners.
Kinnear never turned down Ireland job farmer. He wanted it after Charlton left but got in some sort of dispute with the FAI over something and so wasnât offered the job.
I think Kinnear will do well in Newcastle actually.

Donât think youâre right there Larry. I thought he turned it down in order to stay at Wimbledon.
Kinnear always wanted Ireland job. He turned down an interview for the job saying if they want him for the job they can offer it to him (and heâd take it). Doing interviews for the managers job was pointless though he felt.
Kinnear rejects Ireland interview
Joe Kinear said he did not want FAI interview
Luton manager Joe Kinnear has revealed he rejected the chance to be interviewed for the vacant Republic of Ireland managerâs job.
The Football Association of Ireland are set to interview a shortlist of candidates to succeed Mick McCarthy next week.
Kinnear said he had spoken to former Northern Ireland coach Bryan Hamilton, the FAIâs headhunter.
The Luton manager said he was asked if he would go on a shortlist and he had declined.
"If they donât know what Iâm capable of doing, why interview me? said Kinnear.
âI have done enough in my life. If they want to give me the job they can, but I donât do interviews.â
Robson favourite for Irish job
Kinnear was an early favourite for the job, but has since slipped out of the reckoning, with Bryan Robson the current front-runner.
The Dublin-born former Wimbledon boss turned down the chance to succeed Jack Charlton in 1996 because the Irish did not offer him enough money.
