Good ol Mike Ashley, just when they were starting to like him up in Newcastle, heâs only gone and changed the stadium name. For what its worth, I dont think its that big of a deal, but it does seem to be pissing a lot of people off.
Yes, I donât see this as a big deal. The people in Newcastle must really revere St James. If the stadium was named after the club founder or an iconic manager or player or something then Iâd understand their upset.
Four league defeats in a row for Alan Pardewâs Newcastle. Thatâs sacking form.
No coincidence that their downturn in form happened once Yohan Cabaye got injured
Great to see Newcastle getting back to winning ways. Never write off Alan Pardew
During his conversation with Andy Goldstein and fellow former Wimbledon manager Bobby Gould, the 66-year-old claimed responsibility for signing Tim Krul [a goalkeeper recruited by Graeme Souness] as well as James Perch [bought by Chris Hughton], said "Derek Llambezee [Derek Llambias, Newcastleâs managing director] had resigned as director of football [a position he has never held]and talked about Shola Amenobee, Yohan Kebab and Hatem Ben Afre rather than Shola Ameobi, Yohan Cabaye and Hatem Ben Arfa.
Go on Ireland.
Just the 11 pages of coverage so.
Imagine the coverage if they were a big club?
Kinnear sounds like heâs going senile. Heâll probably get the Ireland job at the end of the year.
Kinnear confirmed by Newcastle as their director of football on a 3 year deal. They have also appointed Paul Gascoigne as the clubs health and fitness coach on a 20 year deal.
What would you expect for 50p !
Nice play on the word JoKe
Newcastle managing director Derek Llambias quit in a row over a player to become the first victim of Joe Kinnearâs controversial reign.
The Mirror can reveal Llambias resigned just hours after being forced to pull the plug on signing FC Twente defender Douglas.
Kinnear, appointed as director of football on Tuesday, claimed he had never heard of the Brazilian player.
Now, the Magpiesâ highly-respected chief scout Graham Carr could be the next to go.
It is believed Carr is considering his future after being told he must report to Kinnear.
Llambias is understood to have spent months lining up a Bosman-style free transfer for 25-year-old centre-half Douglas, who was linked with Newcastle as far back as last summer, and a deal was in place.
But Llambias - called âLlambezeeâ by Kinnear in one of the radio interviews carried out to mark the former Toon managerâs return to St Jamesâ Park in a new role - did a sudden U-turn on Tuesday night and was forced to tell Douglas that the deal was off following Kinnearâs intervention.
Kinnear - whose appointment has caused astonishment - sounded out former FC Twente boss Steve McClaren, because he was not aware of Douglas.
This even though the player has been at one of Hollandâs leading clubs for six years, turning out for them in the Champions League against teams such as Inter Milan and Tottenham and as they reached the last eight of the Europa League in 2010-11.
Hours later, Llambias offered his resignation.
It is clear he did not feel he could carry on working under Kinnear.
Llambias was one of manager Alan Pardewâs big supporters and backed him when owner Mike Ashley became concerned last season as Newcastle flirted with relegation.
Carr is Newcastleâs ace talent spotter and has been responsible for unearthing some of their most successful signings, but Kinnear has insisted he now is in charge of transfers.

You couldnât make this shit up.
That Carr lad (father of Alan Carr the comedian) is meant to be as good of a scout as there is. It would be a masive blow to lose him.
Joe Kinnear has sadly resigned. I hope his critics are happy now theyâve driven him from his job.
Weâre fuckin delighted!
Thanks Rocko
Iâd imagine his critics, basically everyone, are crestfallen at his departure. Heâs an entertaining soul is Joe.
