Your favourite sporting moment of 2015

Mine was Shane Long’s goal against Germany.
Second would be Monaghan’s winning the Ulster Championship.

What’s yours?

The second half of Meath-Westmeath stands out in what was a poor GAA season.

Galways second half performance against Tipp.

Munster u 21 final.

The Rugby World Cup

+1
Oireland v Los Pumas, highlight of the year.

On an international level it has to be Johnny Walters dragging us to the Euros
On a national level Limericks u-21 Hurling victory, though the final was a bit of a damp squib. Just the tonic after the utter dross the seniors put out.

Long’s equalizer against Poland
the home game against Poland
Walter’s goal v Georgia and a real feeling that fk we’re actually back in this thing
Germany game was on a different level and one i havent really absorbed yet
westmeath v meath and yer man’s goal ( the highlight of a truly dismal GAA season. notable exception to cork/kerry, kerry/tyrone and the LSFC club final
off topic but the munster hurling final this year was a watershed moment for me, it was a horrible game i thought, hurling is in a rotten place right now, i cant even find a decent club game to go to at the moment

  • an u14 team i train in NORTH kildare’s trip to Borussia Dprtmund in March, trained with their u-13s, an utterly wonderful experience, i am flabbergasted by the talent we have playing football in this country to u-17 level, its a crime we cant get these lads into a national league of some structure that isnt a dead end for failed SPL journeymen.
  • the local GAA club with 3 pitches full at 10am every sat morning with kids 7 to 12 playing gaelic football, the sense of community there is wonderful

Packed like sardines into the stand in Ennis to see Limerick dispose of Clare in the U21 Munster Final, an experience suitably enhanced by stopping in for “de one” to let the traffic go… :ronnyroar:

Beating Offaly. The sheer elation on the pitch after was outstanding. Laois hurling don’t get too many good days and even less in recent years.

Gods make their own importance…

Beating Germany and later qualifying for the Euros, U21s winning the AI and the Patriots beating the Seahawks in the Superbowl!

@croppy_boy being relegated, again.

Best moments from sporting events I attended:

Ireland v Germany: Unreal, unbelievable. The team becoming more confident and the crowd getting louder the longer it stayed scoreless and then the goal until the glorious crescendo at full time. It was tremendous to be there to witness it all. Wonderful scenes that put a smile on my beautiful face for hours afterwards.

Ireland v Bosnia: Expectations levels were heightened here and I anticipated us going through based on the first leg. But another smashing display and tumultuous occasion in the home John Delaney built for Irish football.

Dublin v Mayo (replay): High quality, thrilling game of football which ebbed and flowed until Dublin pulled away / Mayo shit their togs in the closing stages.
