That was the game of the year in GAA i think. It was a fine game but normally you’d expect numerous classics in a calendar year. I think we had one.
The year Clare won the All-Ireland in 2013 was incredible for classic matches. It was a very exciting year for hurling. Clare-Limerick-Cork-Dublin the semi-finalists. All seems a distant memory now.
I’m not messing but we’re badly missing a player of Rory Woods’ calibre. I arm-wrestled him once upon a time. I lost. A gentleman. Played Railway Cup football and hurling, would you believe.
The noise and atmosphere was ferocious. It had the feel of an all-ireland about it (unfortunately). What sticks out most was the graciousness of the Tipp fans in defeat. It was a cracker of a game.
Galway tipp for me as a game. As a half, the first half of the AIF.
As a moment, Jason flynns point in the AIF.
Watching St. Helens beat Wigan on a fine evening in a rocking stadium with one of my great pals was also a highlight.
Anytime you beat Tipp in knock out championship, which for us is an AI QF or SF, is as good as an AI. We own the fuckers now until we next play them. Two hurling counties playing hurling as it was intended though, no Steroid rugby hurling crap.
Gaillimh Abu!
