Mr Glendenning is an asute man
Why was Blackburn Wolves played behind closed doors?
Mick beginning to look a bit pathetic
Liverpool missing their three big names tonight against the side from Birmingham - Torres, Gerrard and Carragher…
What do you make of that so in a betting sense?
Any value in Villa?
What’s the story with them having separate commentators for 2D and 3D?

Probably not. The Villa side looks poor enough on paper, especially in midfield. Agbonlahor seems a shadow of the player he was too. You could argue that Carragher for one is no loss to Liverpool.
I’m scouting Ciarán Clark tonight. Aston Villa don’t have a great record at Anfield according to the commentators and Liverpool are improving gradually under Hodgson. I’m tentatively going for Liverpool despite their absentees.
I thought we had an ‘Irish - player watch’ thread but did a quick search and can’t find it.
It’s called ‘The Irish in Britain’.
Liverpool will win this with a goal or two to spare
(I thought I had posted this earlier but I don’t see it anywhere  )
Aston Villa are useless. How they have fallen from the days when Martin O’Neill was there and they were challenging for the title…
Not a great game for Clark so far. Terrible touch for the second goal and was beaten in the air for the first I think. He had a decent run there but he;s given it away a good few times and has just given Liverpool the ball in a good area with a careless header. And again gives Kyrgiakos a free header there. Very much looks like a defender playing out of position when he’s on the ball - he’s far more comfortable playing the direction he’s facing.
I wonder when Villa fans will realise that O’Neill had his faults obviously, this isn’t a great team.

It just goes to show what a great manager he was, bringing joy to the club with such a shit team…
Why do Liverpool supporters constantly make Lucas a scapegoat? He’s having another smashing game tonight, like he did at White Hart Lane and in the few other times I’ve seen him this season, and that was a lovely pass for the second goal. As I said beforehand, Liverpool are an improving team under Hodgson. They played very well at Spurs, despite what Kevin says, and Andy Gray of all people did some good analysis pre-game showing how Hodgson’s 4-4-2 is being bedded down more and more, how the midfield is protecting the defence much better and how the general team shape has got better and they’re more compact and organised. Meireles and Lucas, as already mentioned, are the key players in this improvement in holding things together in midfield.
This is a pretty poor match. Clark has been poor enough. Babel is a much better option up top than Ngog.
Lucas has been good alright. Not just that pass but as you say he’s been very involved in the whole system - breaking up play in front of his back four and he’s hardly wasted a ball all night. And some of his passing is quite ambitious.
Another example there from Clark of not being comfortable with the ball into his feet. He was facing towards his goal, took a heavy touch in a bit of a panic and gave the ball to Liverpool in an advanced area again.

Breaking up play is right. He’s working his balls off for the team.
