Harsh enough verdict on tonights performance. Fletcher was far worse. I’d agree with that we were overrun in the 2nd half, we seriously need to re-inforce midfield. At least 1 if not 2 players brought in. Mentioned De Rossi last night, would be perfect for us.
One of the many reasons why Fergie is one of the greatest managers of all time and I’m a gravely disillusioned bank official.
Two midfielders needed in the summer at least. In truth, Fletcher and Giggs are the only ones worth keeping (I remain convinced that Scholes is finished). Tonight wasn’t Carrick’s worst, he sprayed a few good balls out wide, but he still nearly gave a goal away. I’d say he has around one stray ball backwards that leads directly to a goal scoring chance every two games he plays now. He’s nowhere near good enough.
Fergie isn’t disappointing farmer in his interview here.
Typical Ferguson there all right. It was obvious he would point to David Luiz because he should have been sent off.
Shreaves “Are Chelsea still in it?”
Fergie " If they get decisions like tonight they have to be"
Chelsea robbed United again at the end of the day. A draw was a fair result but Atkinson made sure that didnt happen.
Scary financial figures revealed by Villa this week. Its up to the end of last season though. This season will be worse in terms of turnover but there is the Milner money. 88% of turnover on wages. Pompey were at 90%. http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2011/mar/01/aston-villa-cost-martin-oneill
The club gambled on getting to the Champs League under MON and thankfully the handbreak was pulled before he led us into Leeds like oblivion. Awful from Lerner to have given him such freedom but it looks like a stop was put at the right time. Considering MON’s record at bringing through young players it was just aswell he left in the summer even considering how shit this season has been. Still only 6 points off 6th place which says it all about the standard of the EPL this season.
There will be a proper cull this summer. Just shows some of the shite he bought. Habib Beye apparently on 40k a week too.
Friedel - free
Guzan - 500k
L Young - out of contract
Beye - pay off to leave
Warnock - 2m
One of Cuellar, Dunne or Collins will leave. Dunne seems to be first choice but is on 60k a week apparently
Reo Coker - out of contract
Petrov - 2m
Ireland - 3m
Pires - out of contract
Heskey - 500k
Carew - out of contract
A Young - 18m - Man Utd Id say
Lichaj, Bannan, Delfouneso, Baker and Hogg willl probably fill up some of the squad player spots next season. Clark and Albrighton will be first choice. Delph hopefully can push on and Makoun should have settled, looked very good against Utd but was shit at Blackpool. There is the option to make Bradley permanent but he hasnt really got a look in so far. Still need a right back, cant see Spurs selling us Walker, left back and an attacking player to replace Young at a minimum in the summer. But the wage bill should be a lot more sustainable at least afterwards.
Go on the Sunderland. Great nil nil at the Emirates.
Fucking hell Arsenal were robbed yesterday, you’d feel for them given all the injuries etc, coulda been a great boost to them.
Edit: False team news got out regarding United. Im happier if Berbatov and Rooney play as a 2 man frontline.
Liverpool: Reina, Johnson, Carragher, Skrtel, Aurelio, Gerrard, Lucas, Kuyt, Meireles, Maxi, Suarez.
Subs: Gulacsi, Carroll, Cole, Kyrgiakos, Ngog, Spearing, Poulsen.
Man Utd: Van der Sar, Rafael Da Silva, Smalling, Brown, Evra, Nani, Carrick, Scholes, Giggs, Berbatov, Rooney.
Subs: Kuszczak, Hernandez, Fabio Da Silva, O’Shea, Fletcher, Obertan, Gibson.
Christ that was a chance for Suarez.
Have blitzed the card market here - 2 keepers, nani, carrick, lucas, someone else too cant remember. Liverpool well on top in midfield early on. Scholes and Carrick as a midfield two are poor enough.
Luis Suarez
great feet from suarez. good david connolly impression from kuyt. hardly a tackle yet tho
Does that count as an assist for Nani
Dirk Kuyt, top notch assassin
Thats a nasty challenge from Carragher there, but ridiculous scenes afterwards. Deighted to see that Van der Sar cunt get a yellow card
Awful tackle by Carragher. Nani is actually crying though.
Anyone else think United should bring on Michael Carrick?
definite red for carragher I thought. He is an absolute liability. Liverpool have improved at the back since he moved out of the centre, his first bit of defensive action and he tries to break Nanis leg. Van der Saar was 9.6 on Betfair for a card
Looked like a two footed tackle from Rafael also.
Im yet to figure out what kind of footballer Maxi Rodriguez is - Im not really sure what he does or is supposed to do. One of those Jermaine Jenas types. Cant remember him doing anything in the first half.
Nani going off for Utd is huge though. Still wouldnt rule them out as Carragher will be sent off for the next tackle he puts in. Wes Brown having a mare but Carrick and Scholes are hopeless without the ball. Shit and all that he is Fletcher would have at least covered some ground and put in tackles. Poor from Ferguson.
Dirk Kut is unplayable today
