2011 BDO World Darts Championship

I think Chizzy needs to play on the circuit more regularly to take his game to the next level. Hopefully he’ll get a couple of strong sponsors to back him.

Shaun was interviewed during the world championships having seen his cancer go into remission, and confirmed that he had won four qualifying matches in his pursuit of the tournament that year before being defeated

I remember him being interviewed during the 2010 championships but has he been around this week too? I haven’t heard much about him in the last few months.

Apologies got my years mixed up. Those comments are from last year of course

What about the Ref calling 134 to finish, the player taking out 131 and been awarded the leg, you could’nt make it up. The Dutch lad won with an average of 82, top darts.

 When did this happen?

Last night World no2 Stuart Kellet lost 4-1 to some Dutch fella, fair funny, Kellet finished with a 79 average, car crash television.

I saw the last two sets alright, they actually called a leg on an incorrect finish???

As far as I am aware the Dutch lad checked out based on what the referee called, which was wrong, so he gave him the leg.

Do any of you lads actually know the rules of darts?

I do yeah. Im guessing your friend google told you recently.

I’ve never seen anything like that happen in a PDC event though or a pre 1994 BDO event.

What next for the BDO? They just go from one low to another.

There’s only one Lowe

Well the BDO is extremely strong in the low countries, particularly Holland, but similar expansion of the game in Belgium is something that we’re always thinking about. It’d be great to produce another Erik Clarys there.

I move that the BDO and all its members be obliterated. Can anyone second this motion?

Get Scotty Waites out first and then I’m on board.

How do you think Martin Adams will do in the quarters against Jan Dekker Bandage?

Can’t believe that I forgot to mention Leo Laurens in my previous post, one of the greats of Belgian darts. The 1990’s really were a golden period for the game there. But I’m optimistic those type of days will come back.
