That UUCOAM Stuart Pearce has omitted Becks from the Team GB squad :guns:
Yohan Blake left Usain Bolt for dead overnight in the Jamaican trials. Bolt made a dreadful start, but thats not to take away from Blake who looked damn impressive. Powell was pipped to second on the line by Bolt.
13 English and 5 Welsh in Stuart Pearce’s 18-man Team GB football squad. Saw the following comment on Twitter: “It’s like a 1950s London Guesthouse - No Scots, No Irish!” I almost laughed. I smirked at it in fact.
Beat him again in the 200 metres this evening, a serious “program” in Jamacia
It looks like some shocking collection of dirge and mediocrity, perhaps Craig Bellamy and Micah Richards apart.
Is Ryan Giggs dirge or mediocrity?
A mixture of both, ie ragscum.
Are they all on drugs?
7 days to go. I’m sure it will be a great games, its a pity the shambles around security with G4S has shrouded things. Unbelievable decision really to privatise the security for something as big as this.
What hopes have Ireland for medals? (I don’t know very much about Athletics)
I’m hoping that lad in the kayak can pick up a medal this time around.
I think he got 4th the last time.
Taylor anyhow and there’s a couple of the male boxers in with a shout as well.
Some strong shout that Rheinisch will challenge in the canoeing.
I’d actually be sickened if Cian O’Connor won one in the Showjumping.
The walkers normally cause a semi shock by missing out on a medal and I wouldn’t be shocked if Derval O’Rourke and Paul Hession made it to their final and semi finals respectively.
Peter O’Leary and David Burrows have a great chance of winning gold in sailing in the star class, they won gold in the pre Olympic regatta. Analise Murphy has a good cahnce of a medal in sailing as well. Katie Taylor is best priced 2/7 to win Gold. Robert Heffernan would be our best chance of a medal in Athletics, O’Rourke or Hession wouldn’t make the semi’s.
Of the male boxers, the draw is crucial, O’Neill, Nevin, Conlan, Barnes and Nolan in that order would be the chances of the boxers. Their isn’t much between them though
Brazil pissing all over England here on BBC1.
Hulk and Neymar have been impressive in the few minutes I have seen. Hulk skinned Micah Richards just there to win a peno
The excellent BBC ‘Faster Higher Stronger’ series has piqued my interest for this. I am now eagerly looking forward to the following events:
August 5th - Mens 100m final
August 7th - Mens 1500m final
August 9th - Womens lightweight boxing final
August 11th - Mens 5000m final, Mens boxing finals
I also find the table tennis and badminton are usually a great source of entertainment. Some of the indoor cycling can be very good as well.
Badminton is one of the greatest games in the world to play. Anyone with a competitive nature would love it. Good workout too
A middle aged female skanger was having a shouting match with a younger male skanger on the Drumcondra Road between Fagan’s and Quinn’s at around 9:00 last night. I walked quickly past but overheard the female skanger shout out “Who the hell are you? My son is a Leinster badminton champion.”
Good to see the game here attracting a broad spectrum from across the classes.
Catriona Cuddihy won her appeal. Another collosal fuck up by Athletics Ireland/IOC.
The women’s gymnastics is always a highlight for me. Looking forward to the women’s hockey tournament also.
The Irish badminton entrant has been paired in the first round against a Chinese guy who is not only the Olympic champion, but is apparently the greatest badminton player of all time. All set up for an ambush.
