2014 Club Championships

Great crowd here in Pairc Tailteann for the Trim v Kiltale hurling final…

5-3 to Rhode in the Offaly SFC final. Poor enough.

Wonderful game of football in Cusack park.
Cratloe lead 2-6 to Eire Og’s 0-8 at half time.
McGrath and Podge with the goals.

St Martins beat Fenians by 0-13 to 0-10 in Kilkenny. Fenians go into the relegation final.
They will meet either Tullaroan or Danesfort, who drew 1-17 to 2-14.

Lovely little vignette there in the Offaly SFC final. A Rhode player hits the post with an easy free out of his hands, but the ball rebounds perfectly back to him and he puts it over the bar. His facial expression is one of desolation, as if to publicly display his displeasure at him not scoring the free.

Cratloe lead 2-12 to 0-9 with a few minutes to go, really put the clamps on Eire Og.

You could get them at 30/1 before the championship to do the double.

Were the high odds loaded by the hurling or the football?

It was a special an independent was offering, lots got on.
Cratloe were joint favourites for the hurling and outright favourites for the football. Got as difficult a draw as possible in both championships and that special was offered.

2-12 to 0-11. All over.

Very one sided Cork final. sars hammered the glen.

A man in an Offaly jersey standing there on his own gormlessly looking at the TG4 panel talking.

He’s gone now, but it was a good two minutes.

Did you not head down to the local Sid?

That’s some clown making his speech, accept the trophy and move on, you twat.

Still debating whether to. I think I will as I might have a 5% chance of getting my beanie back.

A chap in a fluorescent high visibility jacket presented the Offaly SFC cup.

Defending champions Clara have beaten Brian Cody’s James Stephens by 1-20 to 0-18

Was this the final ?

Lordy no- first round of the championship
Village had no fire power except for Eoin Larkin and the lively Luke Scanlon (midfielder on KK minor team this year )

Clara are solid all over the field and Lester always plays well for them as did Keith Hogan scoring about 1-3 from play

Jesus, fairly lays the myth that ye don’t hold up the co champ for intercounty pursuits ?

Indeed, although they’ve played 5 rounds to get to this point. But if Kilkenny happen to lose in Leinster Cody closes the thing down.

Looking at the website it only shows the championship starting now, how does those five rounds come into it, is that to do with league?
