Laois Hire is nationwide mate, now the name is in your head you’ll see them on any site you go past.
By the way do you recall who picked up Connolly in the Leinster Final last year and the impact Connolly had on the game?
was it cahir healy ??..fookin hell I mixed the two of them up completely !.. healy was the lad I was thinking of…super player and tough as nails…great man marker and did great job on connoly last year …brogan got nothing off him a good few times …he left laois footballers to play hurling…not sure I’ve seen Zach tuohy play for portlaoise now i think of it!!..
Yea it was Healy, Zach plays in the forwards for Portlaoise generally, could end up anywhere but more of a forward. Connolly sacrificed himself in last years Leinster Final purely to take Healy out of the game, and it worked, Connolly rarely got on the ball and neither did Healy. Healy will pick up Connolly again I suspect and Portlaoise will hope Tuohy will be a the wild card.
I suspect they think if they knock Vincent’s the rest of Leinster will fall into place. I wouldn’t be so sure, Moorefield look very decent this year and Rhode could cause an upset also.

do kevin Fitzpatrick, ian fitzgerald or colm byrne play at all?..fitzgerald seemed to disappear at a fairly young age IIRC…Fitzpatrick seemed to get moved here there and everywhere with the county teams…
Ian Fitz would be around 37 now, moved abroad for a while with his dentistry, he came back a few years ago and has a nice little business going now in the orthodontics. Came off the bench in a few of the county final wins when he came back briefly, but that was about it, he’s packed it in totally now I think. Colm Byrne would be about 34, plays junior now for Portlaoise at full forward and wont be stirring up to senior again. Kevin Fitz is around 36, played intermediate this year but has come off the bench for the seniors also. He was a forward initially who Micko turned into a wing back, he was a play anywhere kind of player alright, an outstanding underage forward, but was excellent at wing back. I would have liked to see him left there as I dont think that half back line of him Rooney and Kelly ever really played together as a unit again after '03.
In town teams like that with a huge turnover of players you need serious commitment to keep playing senior into your mid 30s.
:rolleyes::rolleyes:
Watch it back
Kilmallock game on tv sunday
Will ye win? Do they genuinely fancy their chances?
Yes.
Sars have a lot of good hurlers and have a very high skill level, but they can be a bit soft. I’d be surprised if they ever win a Munster due to the time of year. You’d have to fancy Linerick champions at home.

A HIRE COMPANY in Laois have given Portlaoise an added boost this weekend by arranging to have Aussie Rules star Zach Tuohy fly home for their Leinster SFC quarter-final this Sunday.
The Laois champions take on the reigning All-Ireland champions at O’Moore Park, Portlaoise but, thanks to Laois Hire, will be able to call upon the Carlton FC player for the game.
Tuohy says he is “delighted to be home” and to be available for his team as they look to avenge their defeat to the Dublin side in last year’s club final.
“Portlaoise were magnificent in the county final, winning it for the eighth time in a row. I hope to be able to contribute if called upon in the Leinster quarter-final and hopefully we’ll gain revenge for last year’s final loss.
“St. Vincent’s are a very strong team, worthy All Ireland champions, and this will be a very tough game for us, but we’re up for it and hopefully we can do well.”
Michael Killeen, Managing Director of Laois Hire says his company were only too happy to help.
“We have a long tradition of supporting the GAA and Portlaoise GAA Club in particular and we’re delighted to be able to assist in bringing Zach home for this important match.
“He’s a class act and a credit to his club and his family and we hope Portlaoise go on to greater success in Leinster and beyond.”[/QUOTE]
Has Tuohy not been home for the last month or so? I saw on twitter he had his son christened and had a wedding, so hardly flew back to oz just to fly back a couple of days later? Or is it just a false claim to get big advertising?
Will it be a full house now?
The locals will be there anyway. Depends on the weather I suppose.
Is the KK county final on this weekend?
No the 16th.
