2015 All Ireland Final - De Duds vs The Yerras

Won the tactical battle today and has learned to use his panel way better.great though i’M not so sure of.
Maybe he is, it’s hard to judge when they are just so bloody talented.

Why the fuck would that stop you? My auld lad went to a final in recent times I was involved in and he’s in a very bad way. You’d want to toughen up a bit.

Playing more competitive games make you weaker.

Today was a case of Dublin being able to tailor their training and build up to be peaking in August/September. The only side to beat Dublin under Gavin in Championship football is an Ulster team.

As if it’s that simple. He cannot control the flow of a game. Tactically kerry got that all wrong, team picked was wrong (easy in hindsight I realise), changes during the game were wrong.it’s easy look unfired when everything is going against you.

However having said that, Sports Scientists don’t always make the best S&C Coaches. Mind you, he is not the s&c coach for kerry. He is the performance coach and a selector.

You are too funny.

That’s a fairly stupid comment even for you.

Nope, it’s on the money.

Your comment about Kerry’s “tactic” of kicking the ball wide was priceless though, you’re a funny guy.

The 2 games against mayo are what won this all ireland for Dublin. It’s a fine line that teams have to walk between having competitive games and not so competitive ones. If you are playing competitive games every game you play it is going to take a toll on you. The perfect scenario is maybe 2 or 3 competitive games from your provincial final onwards to get the squad up to speed. As I said the 2 games against Mayo were a blessing for Dublin, i think if dublin had of beaten mayo the first day put they would never have been ready for today.

That competitive games make you weaker?

Only someone who was never involved in sport would say something as dumb as that.

Gaa teams have no excuse with too many competitive games. It’s laughable to suggest anything else.

Eventually the best couple of teams come through the convulsed arseways system, but it’s almost a stretch to call it a competition as it’s not in the truest sense.

I didn’t say they make you weaker. I said the risk is higher when you play more competitive games:

a) They’re draining, they take a lot out of you and you can see it a lot with Donegal.
b) There only of use if you win them and the more competitive games you play the higher % chance you have of losing which means your summer is over.

The point you are making is idiotic and says a lot about the chip you have on your shoulder. I think any manager would rather have a safe passage to the last 4/8 every year than having to go a difficult one as the risk is if you have a difficult one, there’s a higher probability you won’t be there.

kev was saying Kerry were finished last year
kev was saying kerry would win it this year

I haven’t seen the game, but from our point of view, it’s good that de duds won.
Means we end the year one closer to the Yerras in terms of senior titles won.
Thanks, de duds
Hard luck, the Yerras.

I also thought Darragh O’Se said something very interesting on Donegal this year, he talked about all the tough games they had this year and how Gallagher was forced to show his hand in these games early this year. Kerry, Dublin and Mayo have the advantage of being assured their place in the last 8 is guaranteed every year, Ulster teams don’t have that advantage.

For the second year in a row, I fell asleep during the AI football final.
This years Gaa has been an absolute disaster in both codes. Bar Galway Tipp and the last ten minutes of Dublin Mayo first match, there wasnt one decent match.

That’s not really true. Any team that is anyway decent and loses early in the championship, e.g. Tyrone, will canter through the shrapnel in the qualifiers and up in the last 8. Anyone that goes flat out at provincial level does so by choice.

This is all so pointless.

That’s not true.

The qualifiers are a path filled with peril.

In 2008, Tyrone were in serious bother against Westmeath at Healy Park only for Westmeath to implode and have two players sent off with twenty minutes to go and they stumbled over the line. They went on to win the All Ireland.

In 2009, Sligo missed a late penalty to knock Kerry out in their own backyard. Kerry went on to win an All Ireland.

In 2010, Cork scraped past Limerick after extra time to win by a point. Cork went on to win an All Ireland.

Your post is misinformed.

PricewaterhouseCoopers pal. Or pwc as they’re now known. Superb professional training standing to him.

FAO of the forum pwc (Cian O’Sullivan) defeated EY (David Moran and Tommy Walsh) today.
