2015 All Ireland Final - De Duds vs The Yerras

Could we not just lock off every other thread and let him post in there full time?

@Nembo_kid, What did you think of Kerry’s early tactics of Shooting from anywhere so they would force Dublin into taking kickouts?

If Young’s goal chance went in the “narrative” would have been about O’Carroll being unable to handle Donaghy apparently. Donaghy contested and won the throw up ball with MacAuley.

If Kerry got awarded a penalty for a phantom offence and scored that and stopped Dublin from scoring one of their 12 points and assuming everything else remained constant (like Dublin spurning all their goal chances) then the narrative would have been about Kerry winning.

If Kerry were awarded a phantom penalty it would have been a testament to their never say die spirit, and proof that they were true champions.

Just saw the vanquished Kerry squad getting a Garda escort. They were travelling in 3 buses so I’m guessing wives or girlfriends/families were on board too and that they were being brought to Heuston Station.

Dont forget girlfriends. So you could say wifes or girlfriends, or in one case, both.

I didn’t think it worked. I think in the long run when you employ tactics of kicking the ball wide you are unlikely to really have an impact on the scoreboard.

Post amended.

The narrative seems to be very much focused on what happened yesterday instead of what might have happened if Dublin had played as poorly as Kerry and if Kerry had played as well as Dublin. That’s the real story, and it’s pure bias from the David Coldrick controlled media that we’re only being fed the “reality.”

Two years in a row Kerry have turned in dreadful performances in All Ireland finals.

Yes the difference being that last year, though they played terribly, they stuck to their gameplan and Donegal played worse than them. The victory wasn’t by much but they were the better team.

Yesterday they played badly but a Dublin team playing badly played better than them and out fought and out .thought them. The victory wasn’t by much but it was by the better team.

I thought it was a penalty but Kerry get enough soft ones for Donaghy and O’Donoghue falling over for nothing that they’ll have accept some genuine calls won’t go their way.

I think it’s utterly scandalous that there isn’t more being made of what Philly McMahon did. If it was done by a a Tyrone player or any of the media bay boys then the Sunday game would have featured a 15 minute slot dedicated to it.

Agree.

Donegal were dreadful last year and will have massive regrets about it. McGuinness leaving his most in-form forward on the bench for the majority of the game badly misfired on him. The same could be said with leaving Toye off the starting team.

But I thought it’s all down to the players on the pitch?
You are a contradiction machine

Yes and McGuinness decided to leave his in form forward off it. Not a lot McBrearty can do when he’s not on the field.

Ya but he didn’t play well enough in previous games or in training. Hence it was in his control, he just didn’t make it happen.

I don’t think you’ll ever know what it takes to be honest. You are excuse driven, successful people don’t make excuses.

McBrearty got Donegal over the line against Armagh, was outstanding against Monaghan in the Ulster final. Made a huge impact against Dublin when he came on. He was Donegal’s form forward and McGuinness erred by leaving him on the bench. He got that call wrong.

Let’s try and be the first site to name and shame this idiot

A former Dublin footballer has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving.

The man, who played on the senior football team, was arrested following a traffic collision at Hart’s Corner in Phibsboro at around 1.30pm this afternoon.

He was taken to Store Street Garada Station where he was breathalysed.

He is due in court next month.

In my view Eamon Fitzmaurice has got Colm Cooper’s role all wrong this year. Either use him as a playmaking centre forward like in 2013 or not at all. Fitzmaurice appeared to be afraid of making the call to drop him or substitute him. His performances throughout the year really haven’t merited a starting place.

He wasn’t a centre forward in 13 and is even less so now. Looked good on the ball in 13 but was getting riddled by counter attacks
Fact is he is either past it or has not fully recovered/got up to speed yet.

I think you’ll find he was, Kevin.
