I’d also like to know the difference in physical conditioning between Francie Bellew and Sylvie Linnane.
Kev?
I don’t think that the physical demands of hurling and football are that similar at all. You need to be a fuck of a lot fitter to play football at a decent level for a start.
Here’s a picture of the top scorer in this year’s All-Ireland football championship.
The devil can cite scripture for his purpose.

Would you deem the top scorer in this year’s All-Ireland football championship to be playing the game at a decent level?
No tot that game, no. How much of it did he play?
Wrong
The question is a simple one, pal.
Is the top scorer in this year’s All-Ireland senior football championship, ie. the lad pictured above, playing the game of Gaelic football to a decent level?
No.
Wrong
Disagree rating.
I was shocked by the conditioning of stick hurlers in this years championship. When you see fat mullockers like Joe Canning in the running for player of the year you know something is wrong. I’d say Kilkenny’s success is more down to their fitness levels than anything else. The handful of other counties that take this pursuit seriously obviously don’t train very hard.
The fat mullocker that is riding Rachel Wyse?
#winning.
Oh no he’s not

Not the top scorer, Cillian O Connor is
I would say footballers are required to be a lot fitter than hurlers. How often do you see a corner back bombing down the pitch in hurling? Rare if ever.
Hurling can be very aimless with lads just bashing the ball the length of the pitch whereas football requires a lot of support play and building possession which can take a lot out of you.
