Standard of refereeing in GAA is abysmal. Although you wonder what sort of person chooses to be a referee as a past time.

Ah man. If they were to apply the rules there would be no game. By and large the hurling refs are ok. They call it as they see. Seeing stuff at ground level from their angle must give rise to lots of wrong decisions.
The continued lack of involvement from the others is frustrating. G Macâs booking a case in point. Not only was it not a free but he booked him. Surely one of the others knew it was the wrong call.
They are not helped by the linesmen or umpires. The amount of shit players get away with when the refs back is turned when surely the umpires could pull them up on it.
Small minded, bitter, shoulder chipped wannabes occupies most of the ref population
