2018 Summer Transfer Window Thread/calciomercato

Was it dark?

Man City spend 60m on a squad player. Liverpool spend a bit more on a position that has been an issue for years. Incredible average net spending from Klopp since becoming Liverpool manager. cc @Dooley

Chump change.

Up the Net Spend Reds

What will the KOK excuses be next season after they’ve now broken world transfer records for 2 of the 4 lines on the pitch?

City are after spending 60m on a sub having reached over 100 points last season. Liverpool can’t compete with the financial clout of the Manchester clubs. A top 4 finish and reaching the knock out stages of the Champions League will be a good season.

Liverpool, the new Arsenal.

Some business to sell an armchair (countinho) and replace it with a kitchen table (van dijk) and a bed (Alisson)

So you stand up with a bent back eating off the kitchen table?

an excellent analogy

It’s unbelievable business - Klopp is nothing short of a genius.

A genius who has presided over three trophy less seasons.

Your impatience and myopic view is symbolic of all that is wrong with the modern world. The more balanced among us prefer to enjoy the journey rather than destination.

What journey?

It started with near-bankruptcy, Roy Hodgson as manager and transfer-activity that included the purchase of Paul Konchesky and Joe Cole. 8 years later the journey seems a little less bumpy.

What a wonderful journey it’s been

Praise FSG. It took the yanks a while to get things right but they’ve it figured out now.

This could be our season @Sidney sign in

Those witty scousers are probably rewriting Elvis Costello’s “Alison” in honour of our new keeper this instant.

FSG are only only spending what’s earned. Is it something like 80m for getting to the Champions League final? That and the Coutinho money has covered most of players coming in. 240m (VVD 75, Keita 55, Fabinho 45, Allisson 65).

How apt, given that Mr McManus is a Liverpool fan

There’ll be a few outs as well which will cover the pocket change spent on Shaqiri
