Big shock in Dublin. A Chris Crummy inspired Lucan knocked out kilmacud 0-16 to 1-12. Cuala minus Con beat Brigids well.

Mount Leinster Rangers beat Myshall by 14 points in the first of the Carlow hurling semi finals.
Ballinkillen currently leading St Mullins by 1 point half way through the 2nd half in the second of the semi finals.

In recent years yes. They would have been red hot favourites today. They destroyed Boden the first day out. Now Boden are in semi and crokes are out on their holes
Myshall are no longer the force of old.
They haven’t been since the Paddy Quirke era. Myshall won 15 of 22 between 1974-1995 with Paddy Quirke on all 15 winning teams. They’ve won just three since 1995, the last in 2005.
Ballinkillen immediately respond to a St Mullins goal with one of their own from a penalty. Ballinkillen leading 1-18 to 1-16. About 5 minutes to go.

Ballinkillen fucked away the semi final against St Mullins last year, when it eventually got on after the county board initially threw out, then re-instated Ballinkillen. They led St Mullins all the way with a 4-5 point cushion for nearly all of second half. St Mullins levelled it with a dribbler of a mis hit 21 yard free with last puck of the game, then won in extra time.
Ballinkillen 4 ahead now with under a minute to go. Make that 3 going into injury time. I wouldn’t be betting any great money on Ballinkillen seeing this out either.
Ballinkillen hang on to win by 1 points. 1-20 to 1-19. Big local derby in the final next Sunday against Mount Leinster Rangers.

Kildavin folded as a senior hurling club a few years ago. They have a few fellows in the Ballinkillen set up under the isolated player rule.

Split championship has worked very well. Allowed teams to build up form and momentum by playing week to week without breaks for football, and standard was high.
Only a handful of hurling clubs in the county anyway. Football the more prevalent sport in Carlow, although they would be a top 12 hurling county.
