Rahm has moxy. I love seeing that ability to produce in big moments in a sporting competitor, and even in someone playing a hobby like golf. And to also take the (metaphorical) hits/blows from the opponent, embrace it and come back for more. Like when Koepka and Spieth got it back to all square with a raucous home crowd behind them and Rahm then won 15 and 17 with cracking putts.
Itās too early for a post mortem but I wonder if Harringtonās vice captaincy selections could have been better too. He picked a load of reserved, gentlemanly, correct and proper typesā¦Karlsson, Kaymer, Donald, Stenson etc. It might have needed a bit more divilment in the team room.

Sandy Lyle as the chirpy jocko? A disgrace on European Golf that an Open and US Masters Champion has never been selected to captain his continent.

I think heās possibly (one of) the only European major winner(s) from the 1980s onwards that was never given the captaincy honour? Not counting current players like Lowry and McIlroy obviously but practically everyone else has been given the accolade. It was almost an unwritten rule that a major winning career would be acknowledged but heās missed the boat now. We seem to want our captain to be in that 45-50 age bracket where theyāre still active main tour players and have that bond with the team rather than being away playing on the senior/champions tour.
Can we do it tomorrow? I wonder what tactics Paul McGinley would advise Captain Harrington to employ? A top heavy all out assault maybe?
