It wouldnât have even been close if the ref made a couple of correct calls. Red cards are match influencing decisions, you canât deny that Dublin got them. Weird that you refer to the free decision in isolation when the context of the refs decisions in the match to that point is three game changing calls in dublins favour, no?

Kerry a very different challenge to Dublin. The Dubs pretty much stopped playing early in the 2nd half yesterday and went into full game management mode hand passing possession laterally back and forth ad infinitum until someone would eventually make an error to cough up the ball. Kerry will attack and move the ball quickly with their feet. Mayoâs conditioning has been a huge edge over their recent opponents but Kerry likewise came out of lockdown in superb condition.
Plus not a lot of pace left in that Dublin side. McCaffrey gone. McCarthy doesnât have the burning speed he once had. Con, completely out of sorts this year. Kerry do have lads who can run at pace.
Who knows though. Maybe the Tyrone Covid crew can spring a surprise first?
Tyrone with a chip on their shoulder or playing for a cause are a dangerous outfit. Kerry have had it easy. When they were drawn into a battle with Cork last year they had a systems failure with Clifford, OâShea and Moran the chief culprits. On a dry day where Kerry can utilise their kick passing Iâd fancy them to beat the remaining opposition but in a dour battle they could be found wanting.

Tyrone should play Kerry next week and then do a Wexford on it by naming the whole Kerry squad as close contacts when invariably one of the Tyrone lads fails a covid test.
Tyrone have a bit more class about them than Davy Fitz.

Was the tv clock correct? The clock in the stadium didnât restart after the second half water break for about two minutes. But it seemed to be the same as the tv clock at the end. Donât know if they skipped it forward or if the clocks were 2 minutes off. Assume the former.
absolutely, Dessie has managed Dublin to win minor, u20 and senior all irelands and some seem to be setting him up as a managerial dunce.
Dublin had disciplinary type things under Gavin, red cards all the shop in all ireland semis and finals , lucky to escape on one or two more , they always found a way to win though
not saying they were overly dirty or anything , just not buying into the narrative that no discipline issues existed pre Dessie

I can only imagine the uproar if Dublin got two chances to hit a free to equalise because they had 16 men on the pitch.
The black card against dublin was soft in the end. The shoulder was fair - even on replays itâs shoulder to shoulder - albeit the man was open and blindsided. Dublin lost their discipline alright in last ten minutes and in extra time as the light died on an unbeaten run stretching back to 2014.
Limerick lads and hurling men who want hurling to flow and itâs a manly game and fouls not called and excuse pulling across lads and hesdbuts would sicken your hole though with the double standards. Theyâll go mad next week when fouls are called.
Mayo deserved to win. End of an era. Dublin will have to rebuild and come again with newer ideas.

That was flagged at start of season. No leeway at start as schedule would be fucked if every game postponed but now there is no rush to play a final so teams would be given opportunity. Itâs the right call.
Extra week should allow Tyrone to assess anyone who is in good physical shape to play. Can see maybe a few missing out but Tyrone have good depth there and hopefully weâll give it a rattle.
This is very true. Dessie got handed a hairy lollipop when he took on the job. The team was in serious decline and I would guess itâs the reason Jim Gavin left. Dessie did well to win one AI with this team and even that was helped by a very easy run to it.

They got away with a black card for a blatant pull and they were very cynical all day.
