I didnât say they have been a victim of a conspiracy.
I do think there is an extreme bias in RTE and the free state sporting media against Tyrone that has built up a false narrative about Tyrone in recent years relative to their rivals and that has influenced a lot of views and decisions. I think it certainly weighs on referees going into games when theyâre seeing new paper reports and pundits citing Tyroneâs dark arts and cynicism.
Imagine if a Johnny Cooper, Cillian OâConnor or Peter Crowley had played for Tyrone the column inches that would be devoted to their antics off the ball.
Yeah, I think thatâs complete nonsense really. I donât think youâve pointed to anything that wasnât fair comment. Dublin have gotten away with it, but thatâs an entirely different conversation really.
Lookit I was glad to see Tyrone win on Saturday.
Fuck Mayo and all that - if you are good enough youâll get one and if you arenât then tough.
Having said that Tyrone and the other successful NI teams have always sought to create a siege mentality - the Millwall of the GAA - nobody likes us and we donât care. If it works for them and it has done then good for them.
Ciaran Whelan said Tiarnan McCann should come out and make a public apology for his dive against Monaghan.
Heâs not the only player to ever dive at Croke Park, plenty of Kerry, Mayo and Dublin lads have and have done so trying to get a player sent off. None of them were ever asked to make a public apology.
Iâm the one just pointing out the double standards and bias of the free state media. Itâs conclusive, I believe in fairness, if we do things that are wrong then itâs fair game for criticism but the same vigour and scrutiny is strangely not evident when other counties do wrong things? Why is that?
Iâm not sure. Harte was told in no uncertain terms, he sneered and denied etc. Kerry left it at that. But thatâs all in the past, youâve a team to be proud of and itâs hard to see past them in ulster
Cavanagh just calls it out. Heâs been highly critical of Tyrone in his punditry to be honest.
You get a balanced pundit on RTE like Cavanagh and you call him biased, itâs clear anything objective in your view is being perceived as bias. Odd. Youâre brainwashed.
