So the following AIs each have an asterisk beside it *
1987 - Cregan fucked KK over by his āKK are a dirty teamā comments.
1989 - even Tipp were embarrassed.
2010 - injuries to some of KKs better players.
2019 - Barrett the cunt feigning injury to get poor little Richie sent off.
2020 - Covid
2021 - Covid
In the categorisation of asterickās theres a huge difference between āwas it a penalty, was it not a penalty?ā, āwas it wide?ā, āwho was injured?ā etc. and All Ireland Finals played in front of Niamh Boyle and a few journalists or All Ireland Finals played in July.
Guys Iām hearing from a reliable source that Nickie Quaid is practicing removing his actual eye in order to delay the game tomorrow should Kilkenny try to build any momentum
Falling into what you are saying there. Basically KK need to have an 9/10 game to win. Basically they need loads of things to fall right for them.
Cody, TJ and +1 forward to contribute heavily on the scoreboard
Their HBL to hold the LK HFL
Score 3 goals
Hope Lawlor can hold Gillane again
Stifle the LK puckout
Get the bench impact
Get traction off their own POs
Limerick have repeatedly shown over the years that while you can stop them in some parts of the field they will then hurt you in others that you have left short.
Iām hoping that it will be a good game and live up to last years encounter. However the more I dwell on it I think could be like the league final.
Kilkenny are not on the same level as this Limerick team, it will take some bottle job for Limerick to loose tomorrow, thereād be a serious asterisk beside the title if Kilkenny won
No Hannon, No Finn, No full back line cover
Lynch and Hegarty no where near previous levels. Gillane to be seriously marshalled. Flannagan hasnāt been nearly as accurate this year. We wonāt be running up 30 points.
Iād find myself nodding my head in agreement with Ursula or Michael Verneyās predictions here. I just donāt think Kilkenny have the scoring power to derail Limerick. Theyād need a similar scoreline to the 1-21 to 2-17 from the 2019 semi-final but it would take a mammoth effort to restrict this Limerick team to just 19 scores. Eddie Brennan with what could be classified as a fanciful prediction of Kilkenny scoring 3 goals and Limerick blanking but loyalties prevail.
Couple of interesting pieces in the Indo today. One delves into Aaron Gillaneās winter playing soccer in the Desmond League, including his 89th winner on his debut, lobbing a keeper from the halfway against their local rivals and getting sent off against NCW. Thereās a nice piece with Maurice Aylward too where he speaks about TJās performance against Toome in 2007. I didnāt realise Aylward was coaching Ballyhale when they were relegated in 1995? Brought them back up in 97ā. Heās still coaching into his late 70ās and led St Mullins to the Carlow Senior title last season.
