2023 All Ireland Hurling Championship

He is your neighbour or whatever, that’s grand. Not a nice character though

I’m not convinced that ye’re better than Cork. They’ll beat ye next year if ye meet. They’re coming.

Even the tally of 1-20 against Tipp the last day wouldn’t win a huge amount of inter-county games. 1-18 today. A fair fall off from 2-26 against Kilkenny 4 weeks ago.

Ive openly stated he is a cunt along with his brother, unbelievable hurler mind.

We’ll bate the likes of Cork no problem

I like him.

That won’t get ye anywhere though

Still nice to bate the cunts

I’m not long finished watching the game on delay as I was watching the final session from Headingley live (cc @ChairmanDan).

Nothing new to add. From 1-12 to 1-6 to 1-18 to 2-24 tells its own tale. You’d wonder if the lucky Mike Casey save at 1-12 to 1-7 might have sent the game in another direction. As we know, hurling can take on a life of its own.

It reminded me a bit of that Covid era Munster Final when Limerick came out after half time & steamrollered Tipp & it was game over with 15/20 minutes left. Except this time Limerick started to get to grips with it in that last 7/8 minutes before half time.

I know he was hauled off after those two routine misses after 50/55 minutes but I thought Tom Morrissey really stood up when Galway were on top in the first half. Concannon seemed be excelling in the false wing back role & Whelan was causing plenty of problems. Hayes, O’Donovan & Gillane were really good for Limerick though. I thought Hegarty got away with a foul on Linnane for the second goal but it was disappointing how the game petered out.

We are well off ye physical and hurling wise. Also you could argue our only two true leaders are at full back and full forward. We have a few stick men around like Cooney and cathal Mannion but while they can always get involved they don’t control the middle like David Burke used to or canning when he came out. But the extent of that collapse should be enough to show shefflins its not really going to work long or short term.

I though limerick couldn’t survive losing their link man in lynch, but they did, no shut down corner back with Finn gone, no problem. Tomorrow will be the last competitive game this year.

I wouldn’t be too sure. The KK fullforward line could make clean sh1te of the Clare fullback line.

JP is around a long time

You’re dead right re David Burke. He would have made a difference if available today especially with WOD out of midfield. Ye do have savage hurlers though its just keeping it going down the stretch is an issue at the moment.

Nickie Quaid is the best goalie Limerick have ever had.

No question. His puckouts are unreal too.

Dan Morrissey is something else. I remember him as a post grad in UCC barely able to make the Fitz panel, his hurling was so limited. But through sheer hard work he’s turned himself the best conditioned athlete in the game and an All Star standard hurler.

He put two beauties into Kyle’s hand running away from him

Nickies lenses are almost as infamous as the tactics board

I’m stuck for a name of a horse at the moment and I’m going to call him Nickys lenses

I haven’t read the 600 odd unread posts but Quaid’s gamesmanship in slowing things down with a pretend injury when Galway were 6 up was just Limerick all over. So fucking professional. Orchestrated even to the point that Cummins was able to tell us who had ran onto the pitch with instructions for the half forward line.

Gillane might be an absolute tramp but he’s a joy to watch. Just pure natural talent all over. The only thing that’ll stop will be himself and doing something stupid.

Shefflin looked to have shit the togs a bit by trying to protect a lead rather that try to bury Limerick when 6 up. He’ll never get the KK job with that attitude.

Twas a great game for the first 25 mins. The outcome was obvious well before half time. Hopefully tomorrow’s game serves up something a bit more interesting

The same way they lost to westmeath presumably
