2023 Club Championships

For neutrals an all club Kerry championship would be the box office of box office.

Dingle, Kenmare, Crokes, Rahillys, Templenoe, Na Gaeil all very strong. Stacks would be there too if divisional sides were rid of.

Kinda like the one they already have.

There are an awful lot of unknowns with Dingle.

Will Mark O’Connor be allowed play again this year? If they do get to represent Kerry, would he be able to play it out until the finish?

Dingle also seem to focus their energy on the more prestigious but harder to win County Championship than the club championship.

There is also a likelihood that they drink the town dry if they win a County Final.

Their best chance of success would be to win the Club Championship and bow out early in the County and hope East Kerry do their thing.

What position is Moloney playing?

After two rounds the Offaly football championship already seems to be destined for another Tullamore final

You may get used to it. And KK dominating the hurling. Serious panel lined out for the Cship opener.

Nobody is interested in that though. far from box office. If the county championship was only club, it would be brilliant to watch

The Stag-do derby of Dingle and Westport would make a great provincial semi final this year

But then you remove the opportunity to play at the highest level from players who wish to remain with the Junior Clubs.

The system they have works best for them. They’re not bothered after that.

I do get that. It’s very beneficial for the county scene. Just a pity in another sense is all.

Agreed, but for such a long time the area sides didnt really dominate. South Kerry picked up a few over the last 20 years. East Kerry are a freak, a little tweak of the division could solve it all, or Fossa going Senior could sort a lot of it also.

When do the rankings get reviewed?

You could nearly do a separate one for the Ulster club football. Some big hitters left out there.

Next refresh - September 1st.

Thats an idea alright about Ulster… pity lapsed poster @fulvio isnt around…

Wonder what the end goal is… there’s hardly money in what they are doing now.

There must be some sort of profit in it.

Outside of @peddlerscross top 20, there surely aren’t many more Ulster sides you’d sneak in. Derry won’t have anyone outside those 2, and Tyrone’s clubs aren’t of an Ulster winning standard at all bar maybe EC.

What are Burren like these days?

Burren will be integrating their U20s this year, could be a year or two too soon. Burrens league form has been mixed, but Carryduff have been very impressive. Warrenpoint took Kilcoo to extra time in last years final and could give things a rattle again. Clonduff took Kilcoo to penalties last year as well. Despite Kilcoo’s dominance it’s a great championship, looking forward to it starting in a few weeks.

Hard to get your head around it. Kerry lads are no fools though and know they have a good product so it’s an interesting move

They are covering Tipperary Club Football games this weekend that will barely have 5 subscribers.

A late report ahead of the start of the Limerick and Galway club championships.

A depleted Doon were beaten 4-21 to 1-17 by St.Thomas of Galway last Friday night in the east Limerick village/town. Doon played with a slight wind in the first half but it was the South Galway men that led by 1 at the break. Conor Cooney was marking Darragh O’Donovan at centre forward/back with Cooney winning the dual.

Thomas’s brought on Eanna Burke at half time and pulled away in the second half.
