Saturday night in June is expensive even in the most unattractive destinations in Ireland. My weekly wage is âŹ188 so the B&B is a no-brainer.
Well, I must say Edenderry is a grand spot. Lovely B&B, and we had a few beers in one of the nicest pubs Iâve been in in years. A place called the Oak Wood Inn. That said, we did venture out around midnight for sustenance after retiring to the bedroom at 9pm and the place was as disgusting as any Irish midlands town. Birds literally falling over drunk on the street and still being let into the nightclub and some oul cunt in the chipper who I reckon was looking for a row with me. He was hockeyed and Iâd have taken him no bother, despite being a thrawneen. Watched the hurling yesterday and there was serious support for Galway there among the Offaly natives⌠
All in all, a great weekend but not a patch on Bray.
