You could pop down to Noctors for one. Serves the best Bloody Mary in Dublin.

Talk to me about the Aran Islands lads?

Good craic?

Cleary’s on Amiens Street is also a fine pub up that way. The Sackville is also not far away from the Talbot St. area.

Kev, missed this thread so adding my €0.02 worth. That’s a decent deal at short notice and an okay place. It’s not a salubrious part of town (as I’m sure you know yourself) so don’t expect it to be too plush. The chaps have given some recommendations for food/drink around that area but as a soft southsider (Wexford is south of Dublin) I’d echo the call to head across the river for a few evening pints in Mulligan’s of Poolbeg Street or somewhere like that. It’s also better, cleaner, safer, nicer in the pubs off Grafton Street, Dame Street, South William Street, George’s Street than around Talbot Street, O’Connell Street too.

Thanks Bamdage.

I did the whole Dame st. thing when i lived upbthat way or my friends were there. Way too fuckinh poncy for me. I’d rather a middling kinda place. Decent pints, maybe music, local characters. But not total dives either. I think with all that advice we’ll be well placed.

if going with a crew yes, very good craic.

We used love going out as kids. Beaches are nice. Cycling is pretty good. Drinking is good crac. Don’t miss the boat back.
Not much to do bar outdoors and drink.
The cliffs off the back are the highlight. I’d not be spending a week there personally. Clifden would be better.

Le Bon Crubeen for lunch lads. Top notch. Really really good. A diamond on the rough of Talbot st. which has got alot worse than i remember. What a kip.

The Ripley does a serious feed for dinner too. Meh quality, but if you’re after quantity you’ll be laughing. It’s in a shit area, so watch out if you’re walking around on the phone, etc.

Ya don’t know the background but its a French-Cork theme.

Didn’t want to say it once you booked the place, ruin the surprise. It’s a proper cunthole up around there

I drove along there the other day, and around the back of the IFSC.

Cross the river then and its a different world. That whole north inner city area is in desperate nick.

I’m sound too, mate. I went with “less salubrious” and advised going across the river to socialise. You’d have other scumbags on here trying to ruin the weekend for them.

North Strand is being gentrified mate
