Abortion - Yay or Nay? Labane and Sid talk American politics, Codegreen ponders on the cost

Men have very little business voting in an abortion referendum. Especially in ireland which has a history of locking up women in concentration camps for what men, mostly men in dresses who like to rape children, deem as inmoral.

Take your anti religious head out of your arse for a bit. You can have an opinion on it, even disagree with abortion from a moral viewpoint without having any religious leanings

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, its a womans choice at the end of the day, its their body. The abortion rate wont increase if its passed. I wont be casting a vote on it anyway. .its a moral issue I havent had to deal with or ever will hopefully.

If abortion on demand up to 12 weeks is introduced then I’d be surprised if the abortion rates didn’t increase

I agree that’s possible, although rare.
What’s your moral objection to a woman’s right to terminate a pregnancy say up to 12 weeks?

I don’t think it would change mate, saying that I would obviously rather that none happened at all in the first place.

Because I believe that an unborn baby is a live person, but the most vulnerable person in our society and the most vulnerable need most protection.

I would be in favour of it when there is a fatal foetal abnormality and no hope that the baby can make it or where it will seriously threaten the health of the mother

You think the unborn are alive? That’s mad. Are the dead alive?

My own work and view point. Pointing out how many stages a woman can go through to get into a situation she doesn’t want.

Of course the other side is that we’re exporting our abortion and that isn’t good. But people have to recognise that there are options if you don’t want to get pregnant.

From my experience, generally its a very middle to upper class issue. Working class people never consider it as an option for good or bad. Obviously everyone here is aware of that, but its a relevant point to the debate.

And what’s growing inside a woman’s womb so during pregnancy, an inanimate object?

Lads did ye see fine gaels kate O’Connell talking about the rights of women to murder their little babies there in the dail today?
Jesus she is a very very attractive woman. I could listen to her all day long talking down to me in that sexy tone of hers. Iv a horn on me just thinking about it.

That depends… What do you define as a person? It’s certainly an object for a certain period.

I don’t believe I will be able to vote in this referendum.

+1 mate.

Care to address any of my points? You’re saying all instances of abortion are down to women having one night stands and it’s the women’s responsibility solely in that situation… ?

It’s going to bring out the worst in both sides. If we thought the gay marriage vote brought out the bad in one side, this is gonna be on a different level. A lot to be said for being an ostrich on this

Of course not, that’s silly. If the life of the mother is in danger, she should have the choice. If the child will not survive the birth or soon afterwards, there should be the choice. But if a woman chooses to have unprotected sex and doesn’t take the morning after pill then though

I’m as pro choice as anyone around here but I found this statement strange. Are you saying most abortions are a result of rape or what?
