Advice on living in Dublin (ie. don't)
A lad I used to work with bought an apartment in Ringsend.

It was overlooking a pub but he was happy to go with it.

One week night he was in bed and there was karaoke going on the pub. He thought ‘that’s what I get for buying beside a pub in Ringsend’ and did nothing more about it. Next thing the noise gets louder. It turned out that a barman had propped open the back door for some reason.

Yer man decides that opening the door was a bit unnecessary so he decided to ring the pub and ask them to shut the door. He started the phone conversation with ‘I have no problem with the karaoke but could you just shut the door’? The barman launched into a tirade of abuse which amounted to ‘This pub has been here for years. What gives the right of you blow in cunts to tell us what to do’. He didn’t shut the door.

Make of that what you will.
he should have walked in the next day, ordered a pint and then bounced it off the barman’s head…

As a proper Dub I would have thought you would have been pro the barman here.

‘As the grey unyielding concrete, makes a city of my town’

One of my bessier’s family are from the Ringer. If I was 6ft 6 and could box like Big Joe Joyce I’d still hesitate to throw my weight around in some of the pubs around there.

Was it above the Lansdowne? Or the Yacht pub? Lansdowne closed down now and the locals have to drink in Beggar’s Bush or Slatterys-the poor fuckers are like lost souls wandering around the place.

who says you have to win the fight pal ?..you’ll always land one and then you’ll get blindsided by the locals who’ll all pile in…standard procedure…a good kicking can be quite therapeutic …

Is the other one called after your midwife friend?
Billy is named after my Uncle Billy Farmer. The first born will be called Liam.

I’m not too familiar with the area but I think the apartment is close to The Oarsman but that wasn’t the pub in question.

The pub is a real ‘locals only’ type of place.

the worst around there is the irish town house but I don’t think there is apartments above that…

Sounds like Sally O’Briens.

These places have nothing on the real kips in west Dublin etc but here’s a good example of how the Ringer can be:
this lad was in my class in school and I really liked him.

occupational therapy to learn to feed yourself after a good kicking can be quite therapeutic

Probably the Yacht or the one beside so-apartments above them as far as I know. It’s just as well your mate didn’t go down and glass the barman if so because he wouldn’t have got too far.

Only if your dog will play underage GAA for his county

I was not directing it at you. General point.

Anyway, if he had to go to quarantine it’s because they fucked up, simple as that. The injection the dog gets before leaving Oz 6 weeks previous is obviously what they either didn’t get done or fucked up the paper work in some way. People make shit up all the time to cover their own mistakes.

Anyway, what did your women have to do in terms of visa. What I have got from a little research is she just comes in on a basic tourist visa and then applies for a partner one from Dublin. Am I reading that wrong? It’s very unclear.

meh…
