Would agree - drunken louts find the stand from every county. However after today Maher can join the esteemed company of Benny Dunne and John Leahy as qualified scumbags.
If it was Cork that produced some of the filth we saw today this place would have been calling for the return of public hangings.
Ah here, did you see Paudi Sul pull on someone’s knuckles the last week…? And the doing the enormous Brian Murphy gave to poor little Joe Canning…?
The difference is that tipp are self acknowledged dirty cunts, cork seem to think they have a wonderful corinthian spirit when theyve been pulling dirty strokes all over the place since the days of the north cork militia
TDB, there are hillbilly halfwits everywhere. I had one right behind me from Kilkenny today.
[South Kilkenny accent, bordering on Wexford possibly. I’m guessing Inistioge. Still not convinced it wasn’t Link, bless him.]
I have encountered them from pretty much every county at this stage.
The noise during the minute silence was almost fully coming from the hill. Pretty sure I heard some Tipperary chanting. Could be wrong.
Don’t forget 87 and 91, just a pity Keady wasn’t there in 89…
Davy Fitz tried the same tactic in the 2010 semi final putting Eoin McGrath on Tommy to try and get him sent off. Needless to say it backfired hopelessly then as well, what with Davy being such a tactical genius and all.
Dunno might be worried that Lar held Tommy scoreless as he did with Tyrell last year, you can’t argue with his record in fairness.
On the referee issue, fuck1ng disgrace - this media hyped multi county agenda that kilkenny need to be handicapped ie. KK’s opposition will always get more lenient approach whilsk KK are marshalled to the letter of the law has become very old and obvious.
The ref today was a shameful representation of his peers and the GAA in general.
Almost funny looking back after Richie Power was raped - He released the ball immediatley, what foul did he commit? the ref made no hand signal to explain as he had earlier to explain overcarrying -it was just a free out - end of -KK needed taking down a peg.
“Tipp took the eye”
I don’t normally buy into the think of the children mentality when a dirty stroke is pulled , but Maher’s pull was a shocker. It was pure luck that Reid was turning away from him because if he wasn’t he’d be nursing a broken arm this evening.
Maher must have been fair embarrassed with the Sliothar magazine poster boy catching balls over his head all day.
Ha saw Link on da Telly!!!
What was Ryan thinking, he’s ruined the reputation of a whole generation of tipp players, he clearly didn’t think tipp could beat them by hurling
I think we all know which person that was.
Putting today’s events to one side, the minutes silence is held way too often nowadays, there seems to be one before pretty much every game. Leaving aside the bizarre selection process of who gets commemorated and who doesn’t (because they obviously don’t commemorate everyone), surely it would be just as respectful to commit a page of the programme to the deceased?
As it is, they open the door for drunken assholes (and there are always plenty of them at a big game) to disrespect the dead with their family members most likely present. At least make it a minute’s applause if they have to do it.
Reid delivered big time today. A man who had a lot of question marks hanging over him.
Compared to today that scemozzle between cork and Clare in 2007 was child’s play…
The slack jawed yokel with the teeth?
What was Duignan at in fairness, he was awfully bothered by it. You’d swear it was the first time a tactic like that was employed.
No, he had a few “bets” on the game WTB. Twas hilarious to watch
Very true. TJ has been infuriatingly inconsistent but really stepped up today.
Seems he might be taking the Richie Power ‘long road to fulfilling the potential route’
True.
I hope Tommy will make the final though.
I heard he was rushed to hospital after the game for a Larectomy.
Even if you could see the logic in wanting Corbett pick up Walsh, which I can’t you’d think after 50 minutes they’d see that it wasn’t going to happen and all that their fucking around was achieving was tying up two of their three scoring forwards. Insane stuff.
The other thing that was hilarious was O’Mahony waving Fogarty through for his goal.
Fair play to KK. Just when you think they’re out they bring themselves right back in.
I chatted to a neutral who was at the game and he said Corbett took buckets of abuse from Tyrell off the ball. Obviously Corbett doesn’t have the maturity to deal with that stuff. Ryan must have had some sort of a plan and either Lar didn’t follow it or twas a shit plan.
Anyway, word is that Corbett and Ryan had a big blow up at half time. FFS.
