AI SHC Semi-Final Killkenny v Tipperary

Check you texts.

They all, including Hannon, still have a lot to prove, now give over.

They were leaving a few minutes before that. 56 minutes is when it began.

Have you watched the match yet Fitzy? Can’t wait to see what you have to say about the game

Saw that as it happened. Bourke jumped up on Tommy Walsh’s back and rugby tackled him to the ground, just at the start of the 2nd half. It was a bit surreal as both of them just got up after that and jogged on as if nothing happened.

That must be early in the second half.
Bourke knocked Tommy over miles off the ball.

Tommy got up and gently patted him on the shoulder.
Nice try, mate

Bah, was interrupted mid-post and Fran nipped in with the scoop. Gutted.

Has a solid headbutt on him by all accounts.

Does anybody know what Babs’s take on yesterday’s game is?

While everyone is rightly laughing at the Corbett “tactic” yesterday, it shouldn’t be forgotten that the Tipp management have also taken the most creative centre forward in the game and made him into a peripheral corner forward.

Awesome stuff from Kilkenny yesterday although they were helped by the utter ineptness of Tipp. While he played there underage you would have to wonder what the logic behind starting at full forward when he was the only Tipp forward you would consider capable of winning breaking ball and disrupting kilkennys half backline. The fact is that the likes of Noel McGrath, Mickey Cahill and Brendan Maher haven’t improved a jot and become the leaders that Tipp need since the A/I success of 2010, you could even make the case that they have regressed somewhat, Brendan Maher has been miles off the standard he was playing before his ankle injury last year. You could probably make the arguement that Bonnar is the only member of that 2010 A/I under 21 winning team playing senior that has improved since then

Tipp needed to take the game to kilkenny and force the pace like Galway did but never looked like getting a grip aside from the 7 or 8 minutes before h/t.

As had been said, JJ Delaney is really an outstanding hurler, imperious in any position 2 to 7, nothing flashy just does the right things time and time again. Declan Ryan will surely get the road and it is hard to see any outstanding replacements, barring the likes of O’Shea, Sheedy or English willing to go back which I doubt they would.

Also some of the fist pumping and showboating by Tipp players over the past few seasons is becoming more and more tiresome. Shane Mcgrath won a soft free early in the game yesterday and was lepping around the place like he was after scoring a goal in the last minute.

I remember a few lads here and elsewhere saying that Tipp hurlers just don’t have the ‘head’ or temperament to dominate as some predicted they would after the 2010 final. The old Tipp ‘one in a row’ thing. Straight away you could see a difference between the way they carry themselves on and off the field to the Kilkenny fellas. It’s not just a Tipp thing really though as is seen in how hard it is to put back to back football titles together.
I suppose it’s Kilkenny really are the freaks in an amateur sport. They’re boring cunts but the way they just keep things so low key and remain so driven to raise their game again and again is really an incredible feat and has to be down to Cody for the most part.

Ryan for the bullet and clonlara for the canon

Wrong, 'twas a punch and a jaw was broken.
Serious awkward moment the next night at training

Would have thought that was the kind of chap Deccie needed to implement the game plan yesterday.

Did he say that? What a joke. If i was unfotunate enough to be from Tip i would be utterly ashamed of how that fella has carried himself all year since the retirement incident right through to yesterday and the shenanigans. I was talking to the auld lad earlier on the phone and he was saying Corbett said somewhere that the reason he was late coming back out for the second half was he was “tying his shoe laces”. Not sure if it is true, someone might confirm but for me he has shown utter disdain for his county, team and management and i know it wouldn’t be tolerated or would not happen in Limerick.

I would like to see someone with more time on their hands like WTB or Sid compile a short video just of snipetts of Corbett chasing Walsh around the pitch to this music:

I believe he said something along the lines that if Lar Corbett is part of the Tipp squad next year he would not be supporting them

Yeah , yeah: make them fuck1ng watch - Horrific but by now a GAA Cliche!
