Cork minor team of 1995 were exceptional. Unbelievably talented and skillful, backbone by Midleton CBS Harty Cup winning team of 1995 and the North Mon winning team of 1994.
That may be so but you said I agree that the game as got considerably faster and I am just wondering where you think I said that?
Good post.

Yup, they were, have either of those colleges won a harty since?
In addition I think it would be great if lads were introduced to yoga and pilates at a younger age. The amount of muscle injuries have a lot to do with poor flexibility.
Of course it is. In this case, like KK smaller is better. Cork is struggling with it’s own size and some top class idiots (alot like fagan) making decisions based on their own personal and political likes and dislikes and not on what is actually there in front of them.
On a slightly related note I liked Bernie O Connors suggestion the other day that the clubs should get together and refuse to play one year so the county championships het sorted. I’m glad some of the big clubs are being affected now with 14 week waits etc. We had just shy of a 5 month wait from winning a first round game a few years ago till the next round, all because a guy in the opposition was an IC sub in another sport i . e . Hurling.
Midleton won it in 2006 again. Team was backboned by Paudie O’Sullivan at centreback and Luke O’Farrell at full forward. We will win it again in 2015.
They’ve put fagan back in his room for the night
Agreed, but sending them ti gymnastics and athletics training very young is even better. Especially gymnastics, builds up the ligaments and tendons who are often forgotten about I’m strength programs. Often the muscles are developed but the tendons and ligaments are not.
From athletics you will be shown how to run better, safer and more efficiently.
These combined will make sports easy for your kids, I will certainly be introducing them both to my kids if they show any sporting interest at all.
If they find sports easier, they will enjoy them more.
Agree 100%. Buddy who runs a Thai Boxing gym has a fighter with a background in gymnastics. He said he has never see anyone with such flexibility.
Ok so ye have won a couple of under age titles. When is that going to convert into any kind of senior success? In a way you prove my point. A good ðevelopment squad system will deliver underage success but won’t necessarily deliver senior success. Which at the end of the day is what it is all about.
If Cork ever get the right people running their development squads it’ll be bad news for the rest of us. No sign of that happening just yet though.
How the fuck does it prove your point, they’ve only started winning things underage over the past few years.
Fixed.
Oh really?

Soon
Yes.
I think you need both Turenne. Throwing more money at something that is wrong at foundation level wont fix the problem. Get the system and personnel right and then provide them with the funding.
Good development squad systems aren’t even focused on winning underage titles, and the Clare ones certainly aren’t. The whole point of them is that you identify deficits that are there at senior level and you have a system in place to correct it. It’s a system through which you can influence the development of a wide spread of young players in the county. If you win underage titles it’s great, but it’s not the end goal. They’re only as good or as bad as the people involved in them, but they’re a great tool if they’re used properly.
