Albums You've Rediscovered

I’ve been listening to the La’s self titled album nonstop over the last week or so.
Hard to believe Mavers hated the end product. It’s a cracking album.

Here’s Son of a Gun, Feelin and There She Goes

Been listening to this banger all week, class album.
Interpol - Turn On The Bright Lights

The first one shades this one I think. For me anyways.

To Costelloes to hear more Interpol!

They cancelled gigs in Limerick twice I think.

Definitely once anyway. Were due to play the High Stool and I think cancelled the day before or day of.

Cracking album. One of the songs from this was on Black Rabbit (tv show) and when I heard it I thought I nodded the head at what a cracking tune it was.

I’ve been in love with Polly Jean Harvey since 1993. I’m listening to all her albums now. Rid Of Me I think is her best work. It is just superb from start to finish an absolute punk classic.

Steve Albini RIP

Absolutely. She sought him out to produce the album and my god what a job he did.

A lot of people sought him out after he did Surfer Rosa.

The Wedding Present did for Seamonsters. If I had a favourite album of all time that would be it.

Cracking album !

Is PJ Harvey the greatest female artist of all time? Certainly close.

That’s a bit of a stretch…

Well you would have to talk about Aretha or Dolly or Patti Smith. But PJ would certainly be my favourite.

But shur you don’t recognise female artists anyway.

Kate Bush.

Kate Bush is a good shout. I’d have Joni Mitchell in the conversation too and, maybe not too popular, but for reinventing herself so many times over 40 years-plus and producing a wide body of work, I’d have to give a reck to Madonna Louise Ciccone.
