The surface and conditions suit Rosol and he has a psychological advantage here.
Not much to tell beyond that. Its a clear ploy to break up Rosolâs rhythm. Rosol plays the game at a fast tempo and when the game is slowed down, he loses his rhythm. Rosol was incredible first set and a half but heâs a busted flush now. Nadal will take these last two sets something like 6-2 6-1.
Itâs hardly a ploy, itâs not gamesmanship, itâs just Nadalâs rhythm.
Nadal is a 5 time finalist in the Championship and a 2 time winner. Rosol has entered the Championship 7 times, failed to qualify on 5 occasions and exited at the first round and third round on the two occasions he did make it into the competition proper.
If Nadal is unable to beat Rosol (on any surface) after the debacle of two years ago, I donât see how an argument can even be put up that Nadal is the greatest player ever.

Bizarre logic.
There are permitted time limits allowed to all players between points. Nadal was in flagrant breach of them. It got so bad, the umpire felt the need to intervene and give him a warning. That is both gamesmanship and cheating.
Itâs not gamesmanship. The time limits should be increased in any case.
Are ya fucking mad man? Increase the time limits? All Nadal is short of doing is having a shower after every point, its fucking rediculous, its not like he has to pick up the balls himself before he serves. By right the time limits should be reduced or else just start deducting points, that would quicken them up.
The limits are draconian.
Nadal takes the third 6-4.
Break to love for Nadal at the start of the fourth.
Nadal is the worst offender but Novak is no angel in the time wasting category either. The 5 hours 53 minutes it took to play out an Australian Open Final that was won 7-5 in the 5th set in 2012 was just ridiculous. A good 3 hours of that time was taken up with Novak bouncing the ball and Nadal scratching his arse, arranging his bottles and getting toweled down between every point.
Nadal-Djokovic was the greatest game of all time. McEnroe made a great point recently that Nadal has been involved in the greatest games at Roland Garros, Wimbledon and the Australian Open. He is the most exciting player out there as well as the best.
I know Djokovic is at it as well but he is nowhere near as bad as Nadal. They should ban the players bringing towels to the back of the court as well, that would remove the possibility then of toweling down after every single point.
This is vintage Nadal.
Youâre placing an awful lot of emphasis on what John McEnroe has to say all of a sudden. Is this the same John McEnroe youâve dismissed any number of times as a one dimensional player, who shouldnât be called a great of the game because he never won on the muck at the French Open?
I think McEnroeâs recognition of Nadalâs greatness shows a lot of humility on his part.
Rafael Nadal Parera.
Make sure and log this win over Lukas Rosol in your âIndisputable facts that make Rafa Nadal the Greatest Tennis Player of All Timeâ thread.
