All Ireland Football Final 2020 Dublin v Mayo

A Fingal versus Dun Laoghaire Rathdown All Ireland final would fairly sicken a few holes.

I didnt say you were. And I understand no one would like to see a succesful team broken up. But this is 6 in a row now and no end in sight. I think the GAA will at least have to look at it (I’d imagine it’s not the kinda thing that would be done overnight).

It’s 2014 since they lost a championship match. It’s a decade since they lost a provincial match. The championship is losing it’s competitiveness and interest is starting to wane

Throw in the two additional cards Dublin should have received too.

Explain how they work harder in the gym as Bernard Brogan put it so.

Other counties have players with real life problems getting in the way of their football. Dublin don’t, the money men will see money take care of as much of that as possible.

The banter between the “ market gardeners “ from the north county and the “Ross O Carroll Kelly” types would be epic .

Best ever “Up for the Match” too

I never made that point.

Dublin won the game when Philly McMahon had a go at COC in the tunnel at half time and COC wasn’t seen again

Bernard Brogan said that’s why Dublin are better because they work harder in the gym.

Reality dictates that other counties are simply unable to match Dublin’s time in the gym due to work, travel and financial reasons.

It was just accepted. There was no sports “journalism” in those days.

Dublin poached Brian Cullen from Leinster rugby.

Tyrone lost Peter Donnelly to Ulster Rugby.

That’s the difference in financial muscle we are talking about here.

Bernard Brogan is not the truth.
Tyrone will present the best challenge to Dublin over next few years imho. Harte while a great manager was not maximising the talent he had the last couple of years. They have the individual talent and depth to trouble Dublin if the new management team can maximise that potential.

Id say Brian Cullen was happy to work with Dublin and that decision was not motivated by money.

That’s exactly it …and their workrate is phenomenal…you look at likes of Cillian o Connor and o Shea for Mayo ,who in fairness do their defensive duties but they will dive in to tackle a lad and then their job is done even if lad keeps going …the Dublin lads will track a player the length of the field and wait for the right time to tackle him…they’ve such an appetite for work …

Most people’s work decisions are motivated by money unless they are extremely well heeled

The difference between pro athletes and amateurs.

They have the talent and depth but their conditioning is a good bit off Dublin.

That’s the biggest gap between Dublin and Mayo/Kerry/Tyrone/Donegal - not talent.

No…the difference between a culture of doing things properly and looking like you’re doing things properly .

The difference between a team who can maintain their physical levels for 80 minutes and those who can only do it for 60.

Consistently down the final stretch Dublin have blown teams away.

Simply not true …They have never blown Mayo away in final stretch…they just played smarter.
