It’s sad what has become of Brolly.
He used to be a very likable and entertaining chap now he’s just descended into losing the plot. Think someone will need to hold an intervention in the near future.

I presume there’s something else going on. His meltdown last year over the sending off in the football final was completely bizarre.
Unsurprisingly, I’m very unenthused about this All Ireland. Then I remember its Mayo. And no matter how robotically impressive this Dublin team are, because its Mayo, one of two things will most likely happen. They’ll shock the GAA world by somehow going and fucking winning the thing, or they’ll bomb out spectacularly as only they can. And there’s beauty in both those instances.
And then you consider the possibility of them winning it, and you realise that its very unlikely to be in the robotic manner Dublin will do so. It will be a glorious cacophony of fuck ups, not unlike trying to get a few mad hoores of bullocks into a crush to dose them. They’ll go every which way you dont expect them to go, you’ll think about giving up on numerous occasions, you’ll curse them and every part of their parentage. Until they finally manage to get the bitch in through the gate and into the crush, whereby they’ll pull the rope and finally have the cunt.
And you realise, maybe, just maybe, there might be a bit of craic to be gotten out of this yet.

I never even copped that.
Its probably just me or maybe the year that was in it, or the fact Wexford were utterly shit in every game they played be it hurling or football, but I really had fuck all interest in either championship this year. I watched the Wexford Wicklow game in the football, but didnt watch one game in its entirety after that. Watched a good few hurling games alright, but even so, there was fuck all to be enthused about bar the semi finals. The final was an absolute snore fest and it was only brief hope Waterford might make a game of it, but realistically, they were never in it. I dont expect the football to be much different. Maybe its the lack of crowds, or being unable to go to games or just generally not being out and about talking to people, but its been something in the background rather than a focal point.
Its very hard to get excited about a team absolute hot favourites to win their 8 title in ten years, only losing two games over that entire stretch. And as impressive as that is, watching Dublin is boring as fuck.

I think you try and suspend the disbelief for a while when watching All Ireland finals with Dublin involved. Its funny how the mind can play tricks. Couple of weeks before the hurling final I didn’t give Waterford a prayer of beating this Limerick team. As final drew closer or at least days before it I started to think maybe they had a chance (maybe influenced by media columns making case that they could win). Its similar now with Dublin Mayo tomorrow. I am starting to give Mayo a glimmer. But it will probably be very similar to hurling. 3 or 4 point deficit at half time. 10 or 12 by the finish. I hope I’m wrong.

The Dubs haven’t really blown anyone away in an AIF except for replays. Tyrone by 6 a couple of years back is the biggest margin
