All Ireland Gold or now to be known as old matches on d’tele

That’s the next 3 weeks sorted then so. Fair play to the GAA HQ, they’re looking after their supporters as best they can.
It’s over now to other sporting organisations (One allegedly the most popular in the state) to crawl to the plate and regurgitate the last 40 odd cup finals. It’s the hope that would kill you.

If there is any county that knows how to prepare for an All Ireland Semi-Final after a long lay off it’s Galway.

Dublin v Armagh 2002 full game plus a smattering of analysis:

The Armagh supporter here from 1:00 on predicted, Nostradamus-like, the exact goal they’d score in the final

Cork v Limerick 2018

Any word on when they’re putting up the Minor All Ireland’s? Asking for a friend.

Unreal.

Edit- Hang on, I thought they were all full matches.

You’ll need to talk to the shot-callers about that one

He started their most recent game vs Laois.

The Leinster Champions have “home advantage”, having had the Croke Park experience recently. It’ll never happen but it would be interesting to see if the Munster champions semi was played in Thurles or Cork would it make any difference.

Think it’s 10 out of 13 defeats in semi final for Munster Champions since 2007. 7 of those 10 defeats were to Munster opposition - Waterford to Limerick in 2007, Tipperary to Waterford in 2008, Waterford to Tipperary in 2010, Limerick to Clare in 2013, Cork to Tipperary in 2014, Cork to Waterford in 2017, Cork to Limerick in 2018. Does your first match of the year in Croke Park theory not equally apply to the winners there?

No the “Munster is a snakepit” theory, where any county could win on any given day, applies here instead.

Or maybe it’s just the standard in Munster has been a bit overrated during the last 15 years or so. 9 All Ireland wins for Leinster since 2006 to just 5 for Munster, Tipperary in 2016 the only Munster Champions to win an All Ireland in that period.

Leinster is highly competitive. Four different winners of the Leinster Championship since 2013 (just three in Munster during that period) and all four of those teams in Leinster finished on 5 points from 8 in the round robin last year.

How many different Leinster counties have won All Irelands in the last 15 years vs. Munster counties?

Five finals in the last decade were competed by four Munster counties who did not make the Munster Finals in that year. No Leinster teams managed this feat. This would suggest Leinster have had two very good teams but the quality is poor outside of that. To further re-enforce the point, all five Munster Championship counties made an AI Final in the last decade, while only two Rest-Of-Ireland Championship counties made it.

Odd that you’re claiming the Munster Championship is so strong and superior yet you’re pleading for preferential treatment for the Munster Champions in a semi final, because the Munster Champions can’t seem to win a semi final.

I haven’t pleaded for anything. I said it would be “interesting”. It would actually go against Munster champions, as if they did win their semi-final they would be going into the final in Croker without having played a game there.

Strangely left out 2005 as being in the last 15 years or so.

Only 1, as Galway is not in Leinster
