All Ireland Gold or now to be known as old matches on d’tele

Kilkenny 0-11 Wexford 0-10. HT.

Wexford were dominant early on and should have been further ahead. Some snatchy shooting after getting into good positons. Kilkenny got a grip on their movement as the half progressed and had some sloppy wides themselves.

A notable feature of the first half was Wexford’s defending from the front. Mick Jacob blocked down two attempted Noel Hickey clearances and set up a kicked point by Paul Carley and another chance missed by Barry Lambert from those. We’ll need to keep that up.

Mitch Jordan has three points from play off JJ Delaney and Ruth doing well on Shefflin again. Come on Wexford.

I had tickets from the Croke Park museum so was between 45- 65 LowerHogan stand 10 rows from the front.

That Paul Carley point was a great kick. Mick Jacob moves Hickey around which he didn’t like. Jacob’s blocking that day was excellent. He had a fine game

Dino Zoff rolling back the years with a string of fine saves

Great game, that Brazil team :star_struck:

That was funny alright. I think he was over Mullagh that Saturday in the 7s and was on the beer solid since. We met him in the early hours and he was welded but sound out. The following night he appeared on the Sunday Game a little worse for wear and extremely hoarse. He claimed it was from shouting Tipp on all day. His ropey appearance was his last on the Sunday game.

He came down to the Burlington after the Sunday Game. We met Joe Deane while getting the grub at the 7’s , he was adamant there was no way Tipp would win, fuck you Joe Deane.

That was a serious Scottish team in paper back in 1978. John Robertson warming the bench!!!

The greatest football match of all time, bar none.

I remember the t shirt he’d on him. “Hurling” in the Carling Beer font across the front. And it welded to him!

That was a good Denmark team.

On commentary for Denmark v Uruguay 1986 is David Icke.

Uruguay lowered the blade.

The kicked Scotland to bits in that tournament.

Mr. Marquez of Mexico awards a very soft penalty for Uruguay.

Francis Scolly scores it.

Michael Laudrup replies with a beauty for Dinamarca.

That was a great game. Remember a gang of us cycling to Lough Gur that day and watching it in the afternoon.
