All Ireland Hurling Championship 2017

posted this somewhere else earlier today in relation to the Limerick game.

I think there are probably a couple of spots to be decided. Dillon will start in the full backline, Cleary will be 6 and David Fitz will be 7. Both David Mc and Pat O’Connor will start but either could be utilised at 3,4or5 . The last spot in the backs is probably between Morey and Bugler depending on where they fit David Mc and O’Connor in.

Galvin will start midfield. Kelly, Conlon, Podge are all certs while it would be a mild shock if Reidy and Shanagher dont start either. McGrath might be held back due to the recent hamstring strain and O’Donnell would be top of the list for the lat forward spot or to take his place. Again this leaves one more spot depending on what management want to do with the positioning of Reidy and Kelly. McCarthy might come into midfield if McGrath is out or maybe Malone will get a spot for industry in the half forward line.

I wouldn’t mind seeing David Mc starting in the full backline with the ability to move out the field or sweep if Limerick withdraw a forward. Regardless of the result and performance I think the team will evolve as the year goes on others forcing their way in. I’d start Bugler in a horses for courses decision at wing back.

Clare are much further down the road than Limerick, Cork and Wexford and are there or there abouts with Waterford… and with the right draw could easily end in an AI semi at least. As you say, how they combat the physicality of Galway/Tipp is their, and everyone’s, problem.

Have we a thread for this match yet @Joe_Player?

Noone should take anyone in the top eight for granted, especially not wexford.

Cork and Wexford are on a par with Waterford?? Go back to bed boy, league games in March isn’t the barometer

Clare, not Cork or Wexford ffs.

not true

Mick Fennelly nor Padraig Walsh will be fit for the Wexford game.

Limerick are better than Cork.

I think we might beat Clare, but Clare are deservedly favourites. Conor McGrath and Tony Kelly are scoring forwards a level above what we have. Luckily, however, Clare have some very average players too and are certainly beatable if we exploit their weaknesses.

Aboy nailerz.

No average players on the Limerick team?

I’d switch Kilkenny and Waterford, other than that I’d agree. Galway shouldn’t be placed ahead of Kilkenny or Waterford.

Waterford would bate Kilkenny I hope they meet this year

They should, but until they do, Kilkenny deserve a higher ranking.

I don’t know if I’d agree with that logic, however Waterford did beat KK in their last competitive meeting

Waterford will win feck all this year

The jury is very out for me as regards Waherfud right now. I know they were probably disregarding the league completely but I just get the feeling they peaked last year with the current setup.
