I always thought you were smarter than this but obviously not. Its nothing to do with being from Tipp, I barely care about the intercounty game these days. If you think in the context of the nine championships from 2008 to 2016 that 2013 wasn’t a freak year then there’s nothing I can do to help you

2008-2016 was largely an era of dominance for Kilkenny and to a lesser extent Tipp. That’s why 2013 was a freak year. It was right in the middle of a period of dominance for those two teams who had freak years. You don’t seem to be getting this at all. Making the period 25 years wouldn’t make any sense

Accentuated by the fact that Clare, with the notable and indeed admirable exception of 2013, went from 2009 - 2015 without getting past the qualifiers and last appeared in a semi-final in 2006. That’s a statistical freak for me.

Your argument would be significantly stronger if Tipp hadn’t been whipped by KK the year previous before the final. KK were also beaten in Leinster the year before for the first time in years. Neither team was dominant at that point.

The Waterford forwards mightnt be as classy as Mcgraths, Bubbles, TJ Reid, Canning etc but in Gleeson, Barron and Tadhg Bourke they do have 3 of the top 5 or 6 hurlers in the country which has to mean something.
