All-Ireland Hurling Championship 2019 II*** Up Laois

The league is fucked though

But itā€™s not, not remotely the same. The entire county needs the exposure. Club players wonā€™t drift away, county ones will.

Good man balbag, boring as ever.

Which is why they should run the provincials off on a round robin basis instead of the league. But will they, they will in their fuck

The championship would be over in May

Agreed

The provincials would be over May. Two totally separate but equal groups would begin their quest for an AI in May.

If you did that you could have the likes of Laois and Carlow compete in a provincial Championship. That would give them plenty of competitive games

If Laois get hammered by teams way better than them every year county players will also drift away

So the answer is, let them get hammered every second year instead.
Remember, Carlow held Galway to six this year. Laois beat Dublin and gave a hell of an effort against Tipp.
Waterford havenā€™t won a game in two years and Tipp werenā€™t much better last year.

That is the problem . The current Laois team have done great but it is one year and can it be sustained . @myboyblue might confirm but I understand there was no portlaoise player starting on Sunday last . The GAA could do real work in putting coaching there .

Get a room

Give them some ki d of a chance to sustain/ improve is the point.

Someoneā€™s on the sherry again @anon78624367

I wonder did Carlow improve more the year they won the Joe McDonagh or when they lost every game this year?

Itā€™s pointless anyway, they wonā€™t compete at senior until they are competing with Kilkenny, Dublin and Wexford regularly at underage levels

I wonder if a traditional county was relegated would there be a call for a six team Leinster.

Edit: Repost

Tell you what. The rest of us will pile into the Joe McDonagh for a few years and let Tipp, Kilkenny and Cork fight it out for Liam.
