I feel his pain … he could well be fine for next week so.
Austin Gleeson’s body slam on Jack Browne was entertaining, he’s a mad cunt.
He’s seriously talented but he will be sent off someday doing something silly.
Doubt Cadogan, Spillane and Ellis will be back any time soon. Hope that Cooper will be, but that’s it.
Anyway yesterday was a collective failure, individual or tactical changes won’t make much of a difference.
Big worry is how poor O’Donoghue, Fitzgibbon and Coleman were.
Work rate looked way off standard.
There was a strange lack of urgency early on. Bordering on laziness. Tipp were clearly more up for it in the first 20 minutes.
Their forwards let Tipp stroll out of defence for most of the game — way too easy.
The way Tipp are spraying ball into that FF line, in one of these matches they’ll get a couple of extra breaks and put up a cricket score. Similar to what they did to Waterford in Cork a few years back.
I’d be fearful about what they’ll do to Waterford on Sunday.
They are great men to put away a weak side alright.
Of the remaining games you’d think that game, given Waterford’s regression to a primitive gameplan, could be the one alright. But who knows, could be a Tipp false dawn.
Agreed
The key turning point this year for Tipp is the appointment of Waterboy. It could tip the balance in our favour and was a very shrewd move
I think people are getting carried away with that one Tipp performance. We’ll have a better idea at the end of the round robin.
They did look impressive though, much sharper than previous years and with a bit of a plan. I think they are vulnerable in defence to a bit of pace.
Cork were septic seemed to have no plan at all. They are normally so good from puckouts but it was their weakest point yesterday.
I’m not sure if we’ll be any the wiser about Tipp after next weekend either, but we’ll have a better idea of whether Cork had a bad day at the office or whether they’ve lost their mojo.
Waterford were cat for 60 odd minutes. Tipp will destroy them if they play like that again. They seemed to have no discernible plan whatsoever.
Clare looked really good for most of it but that last spell exposed some serious vulnerabilities in defence. I’m sure they’ll improve on that though and with two home games to go I’d fancy them to go through handy enough.
Up to limerick to take the last spot then as Tipp will likely have four from four by next weekend.
Will waterboy cover for the loss of Hotpoint ?
Too early in the year to be putting in great performances. Moreso when it’s an old fat team.
I think the big thing is that a Tipperary win over Waterford should almost guarantee their passage into a QF at least. I think Tipp will get better the deeper we get into the competition. Their muscle memory from the last 10 years or so will stand to them and with what is a presumably strong back room team to guide them in the right direction they’ve quickly become the team to beat along with Limerick. Retaining is far from easy as recent history has shown.
Eamon O Shea is the Waterboy so you’d hope so. At least he wont be spreading idle gossip anyway.
The big takeaway from tipp v cork was how dominant tipp were at puckouts. It’s nothing new but if you figure a teams puck outs you’ll go close to winning.
Bullet pointed
- Tipp are back.
They have the Limerick crowd rattled.
