All-Ireland Hurling Championship 2019***

I would say this was way worse. Obviously you don’t want to condone the other either, but you can’t have fellas coming in off the sideline and stopping goal chances.

Aye, that’s why I said it should be the equal, wouldn’t argue with it being more.

Definitely shouldn’t be less.

Maybe the fact that McAllister hadn’t blown his whistle and the ball technically was not in play may have went in Kennedy’s favour here.

It shouldn’t though.

Why? If the ball isn’t in play then he can’t be interfering with play. Doesn’t make what he did right but it didn’t deny Kilkenny anything either as it would have been brought back if Kennedy wasn’t there as the ball wasn’t in play.

But that was Davy’s third discretion, for Davys first ban he got 2 weeks, 2nd ban he got 4 weeks and 3rd he got 8 weeks

They know Kennedy’s success rate in the legal field so have let him off with a softy to avoid any hassle.

What a scum bag - putting a couple through that because they hard words with his father -sick bastard.

GALWAY hurler Gregory Kennedy was last night found not guilty of harassing a neighbouring couple.

That comment wouldn’t even get a crossways stare in Limerick in any case

I’m thinking Tipp '10, lost heavily in Pairc end of May, won the All Ireland following September. Could Cork do the same this year?

Its a dangerous precedent to allow a mentor off on such a charge with a small punishment. Kennedy no more knew the whistle wasn’t blown, and opposition players may not have either. If such a thing happened in a close club game there could be murder. It deserves to be heavily punished. Mentors cannot interfere with a game as its going on.

Typical Laois summary of the club game, since when did ye need a mentor on the field to cause murder in a club match.

But Kennedy isnt the referee, it is not his place to define whether the ball is in play or not. No one can say definitively that the referee was going to call it back. Its the subject of the quick free, people say you need the whistle to restart, but you dont. A player doesnt stand around saying the whistle didnt go, it isnt play on, the player plays on once a ball is pucked and the referee will either let it go or call it back, but the players play on until it is blown dead. Kennedy clearly goes over to block the space of Ryan who was free and then catches the ball because he was reacting as a player would. He is not on the field to act as a player.
