Marie Crowe tries to turn Hegarty’s comments, which were basically ‘sure they got away with stuff that shouldn’t be allowed but let’s ignore it as they didn’t get caught’, into a plea for the two Clare lads to get off.

Crowe went off the head when Podge got sent off v Wexford in 2014 and raced to delete her tweets after she discovered she didnt know the rule about intereferung with the helmet.

Hegarty seems a bit of a simpleton “How will we stop this?”. Maybe suspend the lads who do it but not make it dependent on The Sunday Gake coverage. Set up a review committee to review all games and address everyone equally. Lads won’t be long about minding how they use their hurls loosely.

You need some new material pal.

A Galway player pucked a ball into the crowd in frustration after full time when they drew with Wexford and broke the nose of a spectator. Wexford should have got retired former TD Ivan Yates to go to the media to make their complaint known.

In all fairness though, the people of Wexford wouldn’t humiliate themselves like that.

Nail on the head here.

I dunno, I quite liked the way Keenan refereed the game but Moran’s point about Wexford being the best team in Leinster is exceedingly well made.

If they don’t come out now and offer some form of transparency about how they have/will adjudicate such incidents then they may as well throw their hat at it.

All that will happen is Duggan will get off, Clare will be somewhat appeased and next week we’ll be talking about a Cork act of aggression in the Galway game that wasn’t picked up by the refs but it was by the Sunday game…

Ok, I had everyone till the cork part … Cork aggression
:rofl::rofl::rofl:

There was no need, the rest of ye made plenty of noise about it. Aren’t ye still crying on about it ffs.

what? There was no noise about it at all. Or Crying. A woman had her nose broken and absolutely nothing came of it. Yet a Clare TD was going on about how a ball kicked by Gearoid Hegarty could have seriously damaged someones eye.

Séamus Flanagan, who had a terrific match, was involved in two incidents – one, taking Cathal Malone in a headlock and wrestling him to the ground and the other a frontal, forearm charge on Shane O’Donnell

If only Clare had somebody on the Sunday game.

The Clare crowd reduced to rats now.
