All Ireland Hurling Championship 2022

Looked like he was fouled in the incident he was injured in and not a blink from the ref.

We will batter Limerick like we always do.

We had luck with the sloppy goals Clare conceded, but got nothing at all from the ref. Clare were poor today and got out of jail, there was a chance to get to an AI semi and a crack at Kilkenny. Overall, our season did only justify a quarter final round ranking, we werent great. Although will take some positive out of the year, finally getting some depth to the panel and backs which had been a major issue is now starting to be more solid. Conor Devitt had a great game today but largely went unnoticed. He wasnt a starter early on this year, so good to see him brought thru. A few forwards from the 20s in the next year or two and who knows. We are definitely in around that middle pack, but need to push on a bit further and be more consistent. I thought we played below ourselves today, which in one way is good, as we were right in it, and another way bad because it highlights the inconsistent nature of our performances

Thatā€™s about the height of it. Excellent at the back, need a couple of forwards.

Four best teams this year in the Semis. The system works.

Limerick v Galway the de facto All Ireland Final youā€™d imagine.

Exactly. The teams that finished first and second in the round robin and contested their respective provincial finals.

:grinning::roll_eyes::grinning:

Galway had a spotter on the terrace to instruct the keeper on the puck outs.

Limerick will need to disrupt that the next day.

You canā€™t argue with that.

You and an arm full of flares up to the job, comrade?

The thing that strikes me is that we still donā€™t have enough depth, despite a handful of new players either making championship debuts or getting concerted game time for the first season ever (and with a couple of those younger lads looking pretty useful). We were starting out from a base whereby we possibly have 8-10 players of the requisite quality, a few more than can step up on occasion and then a little tail. A couple of the lads Iā€™d have included in the reliable 8-10 now look like theyā€™re maybe past their peak so weā€™re running to stand still so to type. 2 or 3 getting up to the level but the same number dropping off. As @flattythehurdler said, what can they do but keep plugging away? BDE talks about the project and heā€™s here for the next few years. He seems to have a good relationship with Keith Rossiter and the U20s and has a lot of those lads on the panel or coming in/out for training/games. I guess heā€™ll hope a few more of them can make the jump up next season. But frustrating when itā€™s deja vu all over again.

Absolutely, we dont have enough depth and our subs today highlights that, but in the context of Wexford hurling, its improved a lot on the past 3 years.

Ye played well toaday. Donā€™t be disappointed

Ye got the goals too early today. Very hard to hold out that length of time. The ball just wasnā€™t sticking in the forwards.

Has there been one of them given at all since the rule came in? Penalty and black card is too harsh surely so probably puts refs off giving them

Iā€™m delighted for Shefflin that he got the result.

Iā€™d say he is scratching his head at how poor they are and must be genuinely fearful of whatā€™s ahead in the Semi Final. Youā€™d be hoping that heā€™ll bring something different but hard to see it.

The first touch is terrible, the link up play between the forwards is non existant. The form of the likes of Tom Monaghan and Joe Cooney is way off whatā€™s needed. Would Tom Monaghan even make a Limerick B team?

Great to be in the last 4 but this is where its likely to end.
