It drove me demented at the time. Game was there for the taking.

It looked like an attempt to keep the score down. We hit awful wides that day to keep ye in it for longer than we should.
I think it filled its role ok, but with 20 to go, it was time to push up and not die wondering.
I would wager that majority of hurling fans enjoyed Joeâs article a lot more. His prose is everyday speak, authentic and genuine.

JCâs columns have been enjoyable, for sure, and quite incisive.
To me, constantly referencing self help books and coaching manuals has a deadening effect. So does an obsessive need to buttress your past sideline career.

Pat Keane in the Examiner used to write a great Racing opinion column in the same vein; addressed the pertinent issues, well written, plain language and accessible to all.
Resorting to that self-help stuff tells me the writer has nothing to say.

Itâs a realistic viewpoint at the moment, no point denying or fighting it.
I think Cork are at least as good as anybody else but you have to win the matches when theyâre there to be won. But to pretend Cork are in Limericks league would be pure madness

From what I can discern about those books â would never waste time reading them â is that they are all variations in one key: âthe fine art of the bleedinâ obviousâ.
